SOURCE: wireing a new fuel pump in a gq patrol

If you keep blowing fuses you need to trace those wires back to the Engine area and find the short that is causing that. Start at the tank and work your way forward.

SOURCE: i have a gq nissan patrol and only the front

you will need to see if a) there is enough fluid in the system, b) that the fluid is getting to the rear, and c) there is not a mechanical issue at the rear itself.

A) open and see if the reservoir is full to the line on the side
B) check that the fluid is getting back there by cracking the lines open, starting from the back and working your way forward. (also look for cracked or leaking soft hoses while you are at it) <sometimes a very hard stop or leak can make the proportioning valve stick shut ( a safety feature to ensure that you still have SOME brakes)>
C) make sure that the rear brake assembly is still OK (good shoes, wheel cylinder(s) are working, drums not too eaten up, hardware not broken/ stuck/ missing)

SOURCE: 92 gq gas/petrol patrol efi wont start but winds over

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPEDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

SOURCE: my 88 gq Nissan patrol won't start. There's clicking but won't kick over

Sounds like what happens when your battery is too low to make the starter kick over. At least from my experience. Could be something more like bad connection between battery and the starter. To clean these you could dip the positive cable of battery connectors in a cup of fresh cola or any other soda or baking soda in dissolved in water to clean it and then on the positive site you possibly would want to get a battery post cleaner or wire brush to clean it. because you do not want any of the soda getting inside the battery or it will be useless. This would make the electrolyte in the battery to become neutral and cause you to have to buy a new battery. I hope this helps. Thanks, Cody

My nissan patrol 88 gq won't start after sitting

there is a filter in the injector pump, under the inlet line. could be blocked.

also try cracking the injector line and cranking the car to bleed the lines.

Have1989 nissan hardbody and carbarator runs a steady stream of fuil when trying to crank doesnt stop. Whats wrong

Hi, the likely problem is a stuck float valve. If you tap with a small hammer on the carburetor float bowl near where the fuel line attaches, you may be able to reseat the valve, at least temporarily. As a long term solution, I would rebuild the carburetor. In the process, you would get a new float valve. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
