Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have a JVC KD-R810 that is scrolling through AM stations when attempting to change from FM. It doesn't respond to command, menu, CD, Ipod, etc.

Need to know if it is repairable and if problem is in control head or main box installed in truck? I did try reset on back of control head. Thanks

SOURCE: climate control not working

I had the same issue. It turned out to be an electrical issue with the central computer. It basically got shorted and I had to get it replaced. It ran me about 1300 to have fixed.

SOURCE: 03 Town Car has Alpine head Unit w/changer in Trunk. Both FM and AM won't catch any Stations. CD Player works fine

I have the same problem with my '03. Can't find the pigtail to replace the head unit with an aftermarket stereo. I don't even think they make a pigtail for the Alpines. I've looked everywhere. Trying to find a factory replacement, but they're not easy to find, either. Let me know if you ever got yours working, and how you did it.

SOURCE: 2004 civic, aftermarket deck installed... no am/fm reception

Is your rear window tinted? If so the metal in the tint is causing your reception problem.

When i change stations on my radio it changes all the settings on bass and tremble on my 2007 grand prix?

Hi Nick,

Your radio might save the bass & treble settings with each station. Try choosing a station, set the bass, treble and any other variables (mid-range, etc.) and then SAVE the station to a button. Do this for all of the buttons / stations you like.

If this doesn't solve the problem, tell us about the radio (AM/FM/Cassette/CD and Factory or aftermarket - in which case we'll need to know the make and model of the radio.

I want to use my ipod in car but have no jack soket on cd to connect can i hardwire some sort of docking station to it ???. i have used fm transmitters but they all seem to crackle and im not impressed....

Will be ways cheeper buying a new car radio with an Line-input.
Check anyway if there isn't a line-input at the back. Then you could fix a jack female socket somewhere, connected to that line input.
