The 1st thing u do is have the O2 sensors read to see if you are running rich, then go from there.

What is the average fuel consumption of a 1996 Toyota Tamarax FX GL Wagon?

do you want to figure out how to figure yours out. a 20 year old car nothing is going to be average. to get it better lose some weight in the car. meaning don't carry 500 lbs of stuff you don't need. the less it weights the less the engine has to work which saves gas use. fill your tank normal till the pump shuts off and don't pull the handle to add more fuel. then write down the mileage. drive the car 200 miles. fill the tank again the same way. then figure out the miles you drove and how much gas you put in the tank. if you drove 200 miles and used 10 gallons you get 20 miles to the gallon. doing a tune up and checking your air in the tires can increase the mileage. good idea to check it first before doing the tune up to show it did some good. I did a tune up once and got almost 5 more miles to the gallon after

I have a very low mileage 04 Jaguar x type 4 dr sedan. Where I have the oil changes done, they insist that I do it every 3,000 miles or each 3 months, whichever comes first. The last time I had it changed...

They are doing you justice if you want to keep your Jag in tip top shape. Sitting alot allows condensation to form on cylinder walls and in oil. They could spread the time out to closer to 6 mos or 3k miles whichever comes first. But you have a good shop looking out for your best interest. Need more like them.

How many miles per gallon does my 1996 grand jeep cherokee get? And , i have a really wierd smell coming from the air vents for the past 2 years. they said maybe something died in the airvent? but...

I get about 15 MPG in my 97 but I have a V-8. A V-6 should get a bit better than that. The smell in your airvent could also be mold. It is nearly impossible to get smells out of the vents but you could always take it apart and clean it with bleach.

If I've travelled 2082 KL in a 12 month period how much fuel would I have used in an SUV

Depends on how you drive, how long you let it warm up, etc. If it was getting say 20 mpg, it would use about 65 gallons to go 1294 miles (2082KM), Do you know how to check your fuel mileage? When you fill up, zero the trip meter, or write down the miles, next time you fill up, get a receipt with gallons (liters) on it and write down the miles, divide it by the number of gallons, this is miles per gallon. 200 miles divided by 10 gallons equals 20MPG . zero the trip odometer again and next tank you can figure it again. I write the miles on my reciepts so anytime I want I can check. Hope this helps.

Transmission will stay in 2nd gear

Hi!!

When was the last time you service the tranny?

Fluid should be topped to level, pinkish in color and no burnt smell.

This happened two months ago; my cousin's Intrigue was slipping on 2nd n 3rd when it reached 2000 rpms. and some times when trying to take off suddenly, Have to released the gas a little and you could feel it engaging again.

Solution: Changed Transmission fluid and filter and added one bottle of RISLONE Transmission Stop Slip and Leak Repair I got at AutoZone ($10), It stopped the slipping after driving the car a couple of miles, you can actually feel more traccion in all gears and my cousin says is even giving more miles X gallon. He drives the car about 80 miles a day and is been over two months since. It may sound like a commercial ad but that stuff works great!!!

Hi there ive got aproblem with fuel tank ran low 3 litres in it car exelerates in neutral but looses power in gear ive changed fuel filter and filled up with diesel do i need too bleed fuel pump or filter

all veedub have self bleeding systems, if smokey, try a fuel additive redexe/wynns to see if you get any improvement first.check filter is still clean after 100/200 miles, pipe may have got bits in it.... (i put a gallon of petrol in 10 gallons of diesel and the difference after was amazing, although you have to be gentle,no hard acceleration/heavy loads for 200 miles)

My 1996 LE toyota corolla gives me 300km for 40 liters of fuel. This is a very high consumption for 1.8L engine. It runs fine. No rich fuel smell. Any possible reason for this?

Roughly 200 miles for 10 gallons, or 20 miles per gallon. You should be getting 30MPG. Your fuel is going somewhere, if it is not coming out of the tailpipe it is leaking out of somewhere else. Check for fuel leaks.
