Question about Cars & Trucks
Before you spend any money on part have your code read. Where I live most auto parts store will read your code for free. Over the last 20 years I have had my transmission act up three times and each time it was electrical not mechanical. If your vehicle has a check engine light it usually has one or more codes. It will help you narrow the search. Just an example truck would not shift at all and speedometer quit working. Speed switch could have been but it was the fuse to the speed switch. Speed switch was not getting any voltage. Van I had shifted hard into gear MAP and TPS. Sensors send info to ECM and it send info else where such and the transmission. Try to find out what your code is it will help you narrow your search.

I would check the wire harnesses for damage (pinching, cuts and such) from the transfer case. There may be damage from the trans install. Also fuse panels both under hood and interior. Since no lights are on it is probably a fuse or the harness is disconnected.

SOURCE: Slipping transmission
It just needs serviced. It could be Loose bands or just need adjustments and a Torque converter needing service. If the fluid level is good when checked then take it to a transmission shop and have it checked. It could be something as simple as a Fluid change and Filter replacement.
