Can I use ez pass towing a camper


I sometimes pull a camper or trailer with my vehicle. Can I still use my transponder?

Yes. In this instance the equipment in the lane is designed to identify that your vehicle is pulling a trailer and you will be charged accordingly. However, if you think this will be a regular occurrence, you should call the Customer Service Center and have them send you a transponder programmed for the vehicle classification you use most frequently. You should never use your transponder in a vehicle type other than the one you initially requested (i.e. Car transponder in a tractor-trailer).

2004 Malibu Maxx no crank /no start. How can I bypass the security and/or passlock system. No, the car isnot stolen. :-)


Pass lock diables fuel system not starter . Is the security light on ? car and padlock symbol ? Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop before you totally ruin it . Because there are no wires you can cut , jump , put in a resistor etc... There is no way to by pass this system .The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system functions are provided by the theft deterrent module (TDM).
When an ignition key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition is switched ON, the transponder embedded in the head of the key is energized by the exciter coils surrounding the ignition lock cylinder. The energized transponder transmits a signal that contains a unique value, which is received by the TDM. The theft deterrent control module then compares this value to a value stored in memory, learned key code. If the value is correct, the TDM sends a random generated number to the transponder. This is called a challenge. Both the transponder and the TDM perform a calculation on the challenge. If the calculations match, the TDM sends the fuel continue password via the serial data circuit to the powertrain control module (PCM). If either the transponders unique value or the calculation to the challenge is incorrect, the TDM will send the fuel disable password to the PCM via the serial data circuit.

What is the name of the outer ring that has copper wires behind it? its around the cylinder key lock and its the ring surrounding the part that says ACC n ON?


This is part of the anti-theft system , immobilizer !

Will car turn over with bad transponder

This 2004 SRX has a PK 3 key with the transponder in it not the resistor pk1 pk2 are resistors pk3 is a transponder so that resistor to the wires below on orange sleep won't work however Bulldog security...


Why didn't you take it to the cadillac dealer an have it fixed the proper way ? Not trying some st**id by-pass . You have no idea of the complexity of that vehicle . Computers talk to other computes .signals from the ignition switch to the BCM , BCM sends message on the class two serial data network . This car is nothing like caddys of the 80's ,an they too had thier own complexity ! I was working at a caddy dealer in the 80's .
The body control system consists of the following 2 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)

You people make more problems trying by-pass cr*p , then it would to fix it the proper way .

I own a 2005 golf 5 FSI,When I try to start it goes on and does not ide, then it quickly goes off , i thought it was the petrol pump but we changed it but it still does not idle,


i had the same problem of starting the car and it dies, it turned to be the transponder not sending enough signal to the cluster. this may require a new transponder and re programing of such.

Mitsi 2004 wont start


Yep, the keys will have what is known as a transponder inside, this transponder sends a signal to a transponder reciever in the column. When the signal matches it allows the car to start.
The system is intergrated into the ECU and cannot be removed, you need the original key to start the car.

P1685 Skim Invalid Key.

The Sentry Key Immobilizer Module contains a Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver and a microprocessor. The SKIM transmits RF signals to, and receives RF signals from the Sentry Key transponder through a tuned antenna ring integral to the SKIM housing. When the ignition switch is turned to the On position, the SKIM transmits an RF signal to the transponder in the ignition key. The SKIM then waits for an RF signal response from the transponder. If the response received identifies the key as valid, the SKIM sends a valid key message to the PCM over the PCI data bus. If the response received identifies the key as invalid, or if no response is received from the key transponder, the SKIM sends an invalid key message to the PCM. The PCM will enable or disable engine operation based upon the status of the SKIM messages.

Hello . So your transponder key is broken ? If the transponder is missing or broken then the car will not start. The transponder is like a fuse in the key that must send a sig to the ecu and back to the ign system to allow vehical to run. Quinn , Arizona

Does the security light flash or come on steady ? Have a lot of thing's on your key ring ? Other key's with transponder inside , Do you know what a transponder is ?

The Ignition Key (Transponder)
The ignition key for PASS-Key® III equipped vehicles is a typical ignition key using a transponder pellet located in the end of the key. The ignition key transponder value is used in order to determine if a valid ignition key is being used in order to start the vehicle. When the ignition key is inserted into the ignition cylinder and the PASS-Key® III module detects the ignition voltage (the ignition switch is in RUN or START) the module measures the transponder pellet value. The PASS-Key® III module validates this value and performs the following functions:
• If the ignition key transponder value is valid, the PASS-Key® III module performs the following (system enable) functions:
- The PASS-Key® III module sends a pulse width modulated signal to the PCM to request fuel enable.
- The PCM enables the fuel system.
- This function enables the engine to start.
• If the ignition key transponder value is invalid, the PASS-Key® performs the following (system disable) functions:
- The PASS-Key® III module does not send the fuel request signal to the PCM.
- The PCM does not enable the fuel system.
- This function does not enable the engine to start and run. The engine may start and then stall due to residual fuel in the fuel system.
The PASS-Key® III module can identify up to 10 valid key codes to operate the vehicle.

Having excess thing's on you ring , including other PASS-Key® III keys , can confuse the computers .
