How do you change a head gasket on a 99 daewoo lanos 1.6l dohc?

Find a service manual for that model or others with similar engine. Follow the instructions given. You will need to remove the cylinder head first which involves removing a lot of items including the timing belt/chain. Best done by a qualified mechanic.

Hi my my 1998 daewoo lanos when driving judders and is losing lots of fuel have changed plugs and leads

unfortunately, this problem is common to daewoo engines which is why they no longer make these cars and parts are almost non existent. this is a valvetrain issue known as burned valves. when tis happens, the valves inside the engine heads fail to seal the combustion chamber while the pistons compress the gas/air mixture and the spark plugs ignite it. a compression test is recommended to confirm which cylinder is loosing compression. the only way to fix this problem is to remove the cylinder head from the block and have a machine shop replace the valves and resurface the valve seats to match. daewoo could not afford to keep replacing engines and paying for costly repairs while those who bought these cars were given alternate transportation at the manufactures cost which is why the company no longer exist. i hate to be the bearer of bad news but the cost of these repairs far outweigh the value of the car. unless you are really attached to this car, you are better off just letting it go before you invest a lot of money in a car that will possibly leave you stuck on the side of the road in the end or worse.

I have a 1997 daewoo lanos1.5l single over head cam and broke the timing belt then the engine stalled so i replaced belt and set the timing marks. every thing was correct when set the crankshaft was top...

hi, just letting you know my timing belt just went on my daewoo lanos. unfortunately it seems in a daewoo lanos that when the timing belt goes, it can do damage to one of the valves. mine is in at the mechanics and i am still hoping that it hasnt done any damage. i was also told that if you have replaced the timing belt and the car still wont start it has definitely done damage to a valve. sorry to give you the bad news!!

Check your key immobilizer, i had a similar problem with my Lanos.
If you turn the key and your red light keeps flashing in the centre console your imobilizer is not turning off.

Have had car serviced and new oil filter replaced car keeps break

Remove the idle air control motor (IAC) and clean it well and the hole it comes out of with throttle body spray cleaner, or carburetor cleaner spray. Then re-install and try it. Careful with small "O" ring if it's there, just make sure it's still there when you put it back on.

Daewoo lanos 2001

plugs new?  fuel filter new?  check fuel delivery to a jar.  500ml in ten sec. is good i recon but specs are better from manual, dont burn yourself gas burns quickly. if pump delivers well then the filter needs to be changed or injectors need cleaning. also check air filter and throttle throat for dirt.
