How long should it take to replace the oxygen sensors?

It's not the price that should concern you. What should concern you is how 4 O2 sensors can go at the same time! It's like getting 4 flats at the sane time. It just doesn't happen. Tell you "mechanic", and I use the word loosely, to sell his tools and buy a frankfurter stand then, take your car to someone that has the know-how and the proper equipment to diagnose your issues. Read the attachment to get a better idea.

How can I be sure that I have to install four sensors on my van

It is highly unlikely that all four O2 senosors are bad. They may read codes for free but they are parts people not automotive technicians. Parts people just want to sell you parts. A good technician wants to properly diagnose the problem and sell you the parts you need to fix that problem.

I assume your check engine light is on and they read codes. What where the codes?

Walking camshaft on 99 dodge neon

  • 1 Park your Neon on a level surface. Engage the parking brake. Open the hood and loosen the bolt on the negative battery cable terminal and pull the cable from the battery.

  • 2

Remove the Neon air filter by undoing the side clips and lifting the cover of the air filter off. Pull the air filter from the bracket. Undo the clip on the air filter hose and pull the hose off the inlet. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the four bolts holding the air filter bracket in place and pull the bracket from the engine

  • Locate the camshaft position sensor. It will be at the rear of the cylinder head, centered on where the air filter housing was about midway down. It will look like a black plastic square (4"x4") and have four bolts holding it to the engine.

  • 4

Disconnect the wiring of the sensor from the wiring harness feeding into the car's electrical system. Press in the tabs at the sides of the connector and pull the two halves apart to do this.

  • 5

Remove the four bolts holding the sensor in place and remove the sensor from the engine.

  • 6

Clean the engine of any gasket material from the old sensor by scraping the surface gently with a paint scraper.

  • 7

Install the new sensor by placing it in the same position as the old one, replacing the bolts and then connecting the wiring harness. Replace the air filter bracket, hose, filter and cover. Reconnect your battery and you are done.

My O5 pt crusier stop in the middle of the road when put on the machine it said the crank shaft sensor so which one do I need to buy the crank or cam shaft sensor?

The crank shaft sensor will be fitted over the front crankshaft pulley or where it can read the electronic signals generated from the flywheel....The way it works is to receive a magnetically generated signal which is transmitted to the management computer system....It basically indicates when the piston is at the ignition point of the engines cycle...As we're dealing with a four stroke engine, remember that the crankshaft makes four revolutions to two of the camshaft....The cam will give its own signal via its own sensor....Both are used to control the spark and firing of the plugs in the correct sequence and at the correct time....If the scan tool said the crank sensor I'd think that's the fault and stick to that....

Check engin light on .need to replace or repair oxygen sensor

you have up and down stream oxygen sensors. they are screwed into the exhaust pipe before and after the catalytic converter. assuming it is a four cylinder you have just those two.
you can buy them at about any parts store or on ebay. they can't be repaired. buy them and take them to a small exhaust or service shop, not any national chain and not a dealer. they can install them for you in less than an hour.

Turn off service engine soon light 1999 s10

You need an OBDII code reader. A lot of auto parts stores will read the code for you for free and turn it off if you buy the part it needs. It is most likely an oxygen sensor. There are four on that if it's a v-6 and three if it's a four cyl. Good luck.

O2 Sensor replacement

On Honda Accord the O2 sensor is located either on the exhaust manifold near to the front or side of the manifold, or in the manifold rear side, depending if it is a four or six cylinders model.

To give an idea of the job, check this website showing the procedure on a different car:

To find step by step for your car, I suggest buying the Haynes manual.

To order the part you can use the website below, or buy it at a local car parts shop.
