Question about 1993 GMC Sierra

Open Question

92 GMC radio is stuck on one time and station and wont work.

I have not been able to get my 92 GMC Sierra radio to work although it appears to have power and will turn on and off. The radio station will appear but volume and tuning controls wont respond. Recently, I had to replace the battery in the truck and although the time and station changed when the battery was reconnected, it showed a different time (1:00) and the station that was programmed to the second button. However, it still wont work. I dont believe its a fuse since there is power to the unit. Seems like it needs a reset or something. Anyone have any ideas?

I would say the problem is inside the radio itself. I have no idea if anyone repairs these units anymore or if any good used ones are available.

How do you set the clock on a 2004 gmc ykon

According with the Owners Manual:

* Setting the Time for Radios without Radio Data Systems (RDS)
Press and hold the HR or MIN arrow for two seconds. Then press HR until the correct hour appears on the display. Press and hold MIN until the correct minute appears on the display. The time may be set with the ignition on or off.

* Setting the Time for Radios with Radio Data Systems (RDS)
Your radio may have a button marked with an H or HR to represent hours and an M or MN to represent minutes.
Press and hold the hour button until the correct hour appears on the display. Press and hold the minute button until the correct minute appears on the display. The time may be set with the ignition on or off.
To synchronize the time with an FM station broadcasting Radio Data System (RDS) information, press and hold the hour and minute buttons at the same time until RDS TIME appears on the display. To accept this time, press and hold the hour and minute buttons, at the same time, for another 2 seconds. If the time is not available from the station, NO UPDAT will appear on the display.

RDS time is broadcast once a minute. Once you have tuned to an RDS broadcast station, it may take a few minutes for your time to update.

Hope this helps.

Probably an after market radio. Is it a Delco Remy. Gm usually uses Delco to supply radios. If not you will need to find out make / model and get the serial # to find out how to get a manual / instructions about how to operate this unit.

I have unplugged/replugged the power box for my stereo above the gas pedal and it does not work...what can I do to repair my radio...it just stopped working..no sound..stuck on station..turn off stuck on...

those stereoes are know for being junk. those boxes above the gas pedal go out all the time. your cheapest solution is to just buy an aftermarket stereo to eliminate that bad box. the new stereo mounts where the tape player is/would be if equipped. you can find the mounting kit here..

92 GMC Sonoma, How to change the time on radio clock?

If it's the original radio, you have to hold the "set" button and press some of the other buttons to change the hour and minutes. Sorry, can't remember which ones exactly but the "set" button for sure.

1998 GMC Sierra radio and display stays on all the time

First of all...does your truck have the retained accessory power (RAP)? If it does, the radio would always stay on with the key off until you open the drivers door. If it does have RAP and the door pin on the drivers door has went bad, then the truck doesn't know that you opened the door and continues to allow accessory power (although it would still cut off after about 20 minutes). If the interior lights come on when you open the door, then the pin is ok. If the lights come on, it could be the RAP relay. If it has gone bad, it is possible it is stuck supplying power and needs replacing. The relay should be labeled in the fuse panel, and there should be other relays in the panel with the same part number. You can swap a relay for the RAP relay and see if it fixes the problem...if it does fix it swap the relays back and replace the RAP relay. If the truck doesn't have RAP then it is possible the problem is in the radio..if you have a friend with a GM car or truck close to the same year you could swap radios and see if that fixes your problem...should be pretty simple. pull the cover off the dash, it just clips on, take out a couple screws that hold in the radio, unplug it and plug in the other radio. sorry so long winded...hope this helps you somewhat.
