Hi Christopher Daughtry, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Did you check for bent valves when the covers were off? Are you sure the gears were on the timing marks when you put the chain on?

SOURCE: where are the timing chain marks ona 2000 pontiac grand am

On a 2.4, there are no timing marks...There are holes in the cam gears that need to be aligned with corresponding holes in the head.
Though it's not terribly difficult to do, it must be done precisely according to instructions or valves will hit the pistons and destroy the engine. You can find instructions for this procedure in haynes and other vehicle service manuals. (too long to write out here).
Remember...this is an exact install...you cannot just get close!!!
Good luck! Post back if you need further specific instructions with any part of the job.

Yes, that model is an interference motor. Most of the pontiac grang am's and grand prix's are. Sorry, I'm sure that was the answer you didn't want to hear.

SOURCE: need timing marks for a 1996 pontiac grand am se 2.4 DOHC

YOU WILL SEE A HOLE IN THE CAM GEAR THAT A 3/8 BOLT WILL FIT INTO. PUT A BOLT INTO THE HOLES OF BOTH CAM GEARS. THEN LINE UP THE CRANK PULLEY KEYWAY AT ABOUT 12 O'CLOCK WITH THE MARK ON THE ENGINE BLOCK.

MAKE SURE TO COMPRESS THE CHAIN TENSIONER AND RELEASE IT WHEN THE CHAIN IS IN POSITION.

SOURCE: fuel pump location 2001 pontiac grand am

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Sit in the car.....turn on the ignition switch to run.....listen very closely to the rear of the car...or have someone kneel down by the back wheel.....you should hear a "prime cycle"......the pump running for 2 or 3 seconds if the key was off for 15 seconds before trying this.If you hear silence you most likely need a fuel pump. Before pulling the tank down....check for power on the gray wire at the fuel tank connector just ahead of the rear axle under the car.Check for power with a test light that will last for 2 to 3 seconds as you turn on the key to run.Power means you really most likely need a pump.No power means you may need a fuse or a fuel pump relay.

No voltage on crank sensor grand am 2001 2.4

The crank and cam sensors produce ac voltage that is sent to the computer. There are magnets or components on the crank and cam that the sensors "read".
The problem could be the harness between the sensors and the computer, or a mechanical problem like a timing chain or gear.

Sounds like a sewing machine

hey I have a solution to your signal switch, the problem lays in the switch around the steering wheel, if you take the switch apart and scrape the grooves out that have formed it will function normally again. Talk about a cheap fix but it worked for me!
