Engine will not turn over

You didn't say what year your car is, but if it's more than 10 years old, it's possible that your battery cables are corroded inside the cable itself. You may also want to check for a lose cable connection to the starter. A clicking sound usually means that your battery does not have enough power to crank the motor. Make sure the battery you just put in is fully charged or try a jump start for extra juice. If non of that solves the problem, you may need to replace the starter.

check fuel pressure make sure its within specs if its ok take (IAC) idle air control valve of and clean it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner and wire brush Then reset computer by pull ground cable off battery for 30 seconds or pull ECM fuse and put back. Also you can clean the mass air flow sensor with a non-chlronated brake cleaner. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Unable to get hood open. I released hood from button inside, but unable to lift hood up. Please advise

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

Hood will not open due to non cable release. any

It actually is going to depend upon where the break in the cable is. I'm basing this on the model year but you might check to see if any of the cable is still extended & broken off at the lever you use to open it. If you can see the broken strands you can easily clamp onto that with vice-grips, or similar pliers & pull on the exposed cable to open it. IF you cannot see the cable, you are limited as the whole intent of the cable system was to prevent anyone from opening the hood without the release cable. You can attempt to determine where it broke based upon the cable you pull out of it, cut the cable past that point without cutting the inner, "pull" cable, then pull on the exposed cable once out.

Next step would be to do some fishing out under the hood opening area to see if the small cable could be snagged & pulled but that's a slim chance.

Finally, Body shops are the best at getting to things like this since they usually have to dissasemble those parts for repairs, they would be best suited to remove other parts to gain access. good luck

I dont know how to pull the codes on a 1993 volvo

Volvo Code Retrieval Accessing Trouble Codes 89-93 models (and later non-turbo/non-OBDII models)

Fuel Codes Locate the diagnostic unit behind left strut tower and remove its cover.(see image) Connect selector cable to socket #2,which tests the fuel codes. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position(engine not running). Enter the diagnostic mode by pressing the push button on the diagnostic unit for at least 1 second, but not more than 3 seconds. The red LED light will start to flash, count the number of flashes in 3 flash intervals. The flashes will be seperated by 3 second intervals.Make note of all codes. If no codes are stored, the LED will flash 1-1-1,which means the fuel system is operating correctly.

Ignition Codes To access the ignition codes, follow the above procedure, but with the selector cable connected to the #6 socket on the diagnostic unit.
NOTE:Turbocharged models may have seperate codes for the turbo system and are accessse by hooking the selector cable to the #5 socket.

I am unable to pop the hood on a 2000 Chevy Tracker

The cable is probably broken, but maybe disconnected at the pull lever. Look under your lever, and see if you can see cable. If you can, pull on it with a pair of pliers, and see if you can get it to open. If not, try and reach the cable through your grill , or from under the front end.

1999 Olds unable to reset the security light

Usually you can pull the negative battery cable off and keep it off 2 minutes then put it back on and this resets everything. If the light stays on after that you may have something else going on.

Sincerely,
