SOURCE: 1997 a4 quattro , starter needs to be replaced-how hard is this

You can, but its a bit tricky if you don't work with cars. A cheaper way would to be to look on craigslist in your area you might always find something on there. If you don't then your going to have to shell out the $$. Most of it is labor fees anyways.

SOURCE: ignition switch for a 74 vw super beetle

The plastic ignition switch is held in with a philips screw. You will need to remove the ignition lock cylinder to get to it. A easy way to check is to unplug the wires going into the back of the lock housing and plug in the new switch, without removing anything.

How do you change an ignition switch on a 2002 VW beetle

This is for the requested item:

Removal & Installation
  1. If necessary, make sure you have the radio code.
  2. Place the steering wheel in the center (wheels straight ahead) position.
  3. Disarm the SRS system, as outlined in the Chassis Electrical System.
  4. Make sure the negative battery cable is disconnected.
  5. Remove the steering wheel, as outlined in this section.
  6. Remove the upper and lower steering column switch trim. Refer to the Turn Signal (Combination) Switch or Multi-function switch procedure for details.
  7. Disconnect the multi-pin connector from the ignition/starter switch.
  8. Remove the locking fluid (paint) from threaded holes of screws.
  9. Loosen the two screws slightly, and pull ignition/starter switch out from steering lock housing in direction shown.

To install:
  1. Push the ignition/starter switch into steering lock housing.

NOTE When installing the ignition/starter lock switch ensure that the ignition/starter lock switch and the lock cylinder are in the same position, e.g. "ignition on".

  2. Tighten screws and seal securing holes with sealant D2.
  3. Connect multi-pin connector to ignition/starter switch.
  4. Install steering column switches, steering wheel trim and steering wheel, as outlined in this section.

Is there a heater illum bulb in a 2001 VW Beatle

Set the fan speed switch to position #2. Grab the fan speed knob and pull it straight off. It might fight you a bit, but it will come off. Once you have the knob off, lookinside the control unit and you will see the bulb. I have seen these just fall out of the socket on their own.

How to install timing belt on 1998 vw beetle 2

I assume you don't have a Bentley's factory manual and special tool to tighten the belt. I am strongly recommending you purchase either a disc format or hard copy of the factory manual and not generic Chiltons or Hayes because it is necessary for timing marks line up. If you cant buy one I know you can try your local public library for reference materials.
