SOURCE: mazda 626 gf 1.8l vacuum hose
I am not a pro but I know engines in general I grew up in my dad's mechanical repair shop..
A vacuum gauge is usually connected in between the Air filter and the engine intake manifold. The best place to fit one would be on the Vacuum advance and ****** that is found on the Distributor. It is a rather thin pipe thinner than a pen but I think that is the size required and it does **** on the distributor all the time.
It is usually a round little silver UFO look alike thingy with a pipe coming out of it going to the carburetor or injection system somewhere. I would cut that pipe and put a T piece in to connect to my Vacuum gauge or in your case, cruise control. (Aquarian pet shops sell the right size.)
Be sure to buy a few strait fittings with the T piece so you can repair or mend any cutting you did if you made a mistake.
To prevent a vacuum gauge from jumping around and rather give a smooth reading we often put a little thick oil in the pipe to ad as a buffer between extremes but it can also ****** your responses too much on the other end so its a little of a trial and error situation to determine exactly how little oil to use.

Testimonial: "thanks for the tip of the strait fitting and a t-piece in case of repair."
