Go to a library that has a set of the factory service manuals (not Chlton's or Haynes or Motor's). The FSM's will give you all the trouble hotting charts that the dealer techs use.

1997 gmc jimmy turns over no fire

When you replaced the rotor did you notice if the dist shaft had
any side to side play? These have a habit of wearing out the top
dist. bushing, then the reluctor wheel hits the magnet, causing a
no spark condition. Plus ,make sure the rotor actually is turning
when you crank the engine.

NO FIRE AGAIN

Make sure fuel pump is getting power. Im not sure but I think ignition is wired through fuel pump so if it dont pump fuel it wont spark either

1997 chevrolet blazer does not have spark in the spark plugs I already replaced the crankshaft sensor and still wont start

if it has a distributor, it is most likely the ignition module inside thats shot. call an auto parts store. and I think they can test them to be sure if its bad or not. check the cap and rotor also ! you can turn dist. a bit if timing is off. theres a hold down bolt underneath dist just loosen it. just so you can turn it to where it runs the best! then tighten and try it. if not the module. make sure power is going to dist. also make sure dist. shaft is turning, in dist. hope this helps.

98 Safari will not start. Have no spark coming from coil. changed the coil, changed dist cap, changed the pick up coil. the module checked out fine. What is next to check?

did you check for a crank signal from the crankshaft sensor? the sensor is located near the balancer on the front of the engine.

1990 gmc 6500 topkick with no spark or injector pulse. all 4 wires on the ignition coil have battery voltage with key on. is coil shorted or is the ignition module bad?

You are jumping to conclusions. Slow down.
No spark AND no injector pulse indicates none of the desired outputs were triggered. The ignition module makes spark when it receives a crankshaft position sensor signal, and then transfers control of that spark to the computer after it starts. The module takes its crank sensor signal and generates an RPM count that it forwards to the PCM(main computer) which is used for triggering the injectors and controlling timing. SO, if you had a bad crank sensor OR a bad ignition module, you could lose both spark AND fuel. a coil would not disable injector pulse. modules RARELY fail in a manner that disables RPM reference to the computer causing it to not fire the injectors...At this point, I would TEST the crank sensor as the next step. If its easier, 1 of the wires on the module goes directly there so you can test the crank sensor at the module.
