SOURCE: Noise from rear of car when turning.

I have same problem, and my MOT guy says the component connecting the the prop shaft has broken, and is dangerous. Its like a bracket underneath near rear axle.....I'm trying to search the net for a part number so I can sort mine.

Track down Toyota publication RM184E - a search of the ih8mud forums is a good start to finding it.

There is a bang noise coming from underneath similar to the reverse bang phenomena which has got worse over the day

Don't know your model of car or truck...but this is usually a side effect of a worn u-joint in the drive shaft...or CV joint. Please have this inspected before you get stranded. Should be a free inspection at most shops. Hope this helps.

Please make sure earth/ground points are tight and free of dirt and corrosion. especially knowing this is off road car. fuses are clean. charge relay is working correctly, main fuse CONNECTIONS are good. the fact that it happens when you move , means most likely a loose connection.

Clunking noise when turning wheel on my renault megane any ideas what this could be

I would take it in and get your CV joint checked. When they start going bad they make the noise you describe and you can sometimes feel a little catching or surging feeling when turning sharp. Your mechanic can inspect them from underneath and usually tell pretty quick if you have a problem.

Troopy 75 Series landcruiser engine problem? hi

Check your air filter housing and the air intake piping. There is a reason why there are high level air intakes available for your vehicle, it is to stop water getting inside the combustion chambers. There is a possibility that your engine has sucked water into the induction system. It needs to be checked and cleaned as soon as possible. Water in the combustion chambers WILL kill your engine.

big bang theory.

Ok, I've never heard of this happening to someone. If you turn left or right and apply brakes there is no noise. That means that the front end is probably ok. If it doesn't seem loose that way.

If you have a Sears nearby take it to them so they can listen to this banging.

They probably won't charge to look at it.

Fan motor in landcruiser 100 series is making a squealing/lound humming noise when the aircon is turned on, Im assuming it is the fan motor, noise coming from under the glovebox compartment of the vehcile.

Check your fanbelt in the engine bay, It is uncommon for an 8 year old Toyota to have a heater fan problem, however they are reasonably easy to access from underneath in the passengers footwell . It may have a leaf or something sucked into the unit .
