SOURCE: 01 s10 security disconnected now no start

I suppose if you are determined on not fixing the problem correctly and you can start the vehicle by jumping the starter relay, you could rig a relay of your own from the column off of the starter signal wire from the ignition wire from the ignition switch to the starter. I personally think you should fix the problem with the security system installed on the vehicle. If price is an issue, buy the part from a junk yard, but remember the security has to be learned as followed.

30 Minute Learn Procedure

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON, vehicle will not start.
  3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes, the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
  6. Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
  7. Start the engine, the vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
  8. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed, history DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

SOURCE: mechanic installed new starter with battery

Unfortunately yes. It shouldn't have done so but now that it is, the only people who can do that is the dealer. NOW.... where this gets tricky is, the one who intiated the repair should be liable to have it reprogrammed and have included that in his estimate for repairs.

99 Pontiac bonneville wont start. just get a humming. no crank or starter sound

This may be related to the antitheft security system. The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. When it's the security locked out starter, you won't even hear a click when you turn the key. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it? This is a common problem worth looking into.

My 2011 galant wont start its been parked but i start it every so often all interior lights n radio work tho what can it be

it maybe a battery problem like a cell going bad or its not being run long enough to fully charge the battery. it takes little voltage to run lights and radio but a lot more to start a car.

Your onboard security system probably has the fuel system disabled. This is common when the battery gets disconnected. The imobilizer unit will sometimes set a code if the battery gets disconnected then hooked back up. clearing the fault codes will usually get the engine to start again.

My car wont start I changed my water pump n now my car wont start

It is a good idea (recommended) to disconnect the battery when working on electrical components. If you disconnected the batter, make sure the battery cables are secure on the terminals (clean terminals if necessary) - apply a terminal grease to prevent corrosion and acid build up. Also, check the connection on the alternator - it's very possible this may have been disturbed or disconnected by accident during the installation of wires. Part of your message says "my car won't start, I changed my water..." did you change your water pump? There may be a crankshaft and/or camshaft sensor near the water pump. Make sure that these are plugged in and secure. Check your ignition fuse in the fuse box, the starter relay(under the hood) and the fusable link, next to or near the battery, or starter. Check all electrical connection that may prevent the vehicle from starting.
