SOURCE: 2004 elantra car keys and remote

I bought a 2005 Elantra new at the dealer and they gave me a little silver engraved tab that had a engraved code on it in case I lost my set . If that is your situation ( If you bought it new) I would think they would do the same. If not I would check where you bought it.

SOURCE: My problem sounds similar to the one you had.

TJ. I have been through probably every type of problem you can have with my security system on my 2002. From what it sounds like to me in your situation is this. What happens over time is if you or the previous owner has many keys on there key ring it pulls the ignition key downward and over time it wears out the tumblers in the ignition switch witch if not lined up correctly after the key has been entered into the switch the security system will automatically take over and it will not start. I had the auto start removed even thoe it was not the problem. Who ever wired it in should have been slapped. Another possibility is that the car is not reading the chip in the key properly, prompting the security system to kick in. I hope this helps. Its very frustrating to sit in your work parking lot after everyone else go's home. Good luck, let me know how it comes out.

SOURCE: I have lost my car key..Audi A4 96 model,

You can call a lock smith and they can come out and fix it, if you have towing service then call tow company so they can take the car to a lock smith to save the charge of the lock smith, they now have the ability to make keys for the ping style locks that came out in 2000 or earlier and having the key that mates to the lock will make it cheaper but the will have to program the new key with your computer.

SOURCE: spare tire tools

From the owner's manual for that model, see link below also, page 299 of the PDF has a nice picture.

Spare Tire Removal
Fit the jack handle extension over the drive nut. Use the
Lug Wrench to rotate the nut counter clockwise until the
spare is on the ground with enough slack in the cable to
allow to pull the tire out from under the vehicle.
The winch mechanism is designed for use with the
jack extension tube only. Use of an air wrench or
other power tools is not recommended and can
damage the winch.
When the spare is clear, tilt the retainer at the end of the
cable and pull it through the center of the wheel.

SOURCE: Spare/extra key will not start the car

Key must be made by the dealer and programmed to the vehicle. There is a chip in the key that the antitheft system must read to start the engine. Any key blank with matching cut can open the door, no chip necessary

What will be the maintenance and service cost of Volkswagen Polo GT TSI after one year?

Volkswagen Polo GT TSI is nice and good hatchback car. According to me, it doesn't need the service too frequently and if it does, then it would be not more than INR 15,000. Leaving it spares part cost, Volkswagen Polo GT is good machine.

How do I unlock my Toyota Camry without the keys

Hi Tony:
There are several options:
1) See if there is a way to insert a piece of wire (clothes hangar) to be able to manually unlock it form the inside.
2) See if a local Auto Towing company has someone who can unlock it. Slim Jim?
3) If the VIN number is visible through the windshield, call your local Toyota Dealer and see if they can give you the key code, then get the local lock shop to cut you a key
4) Last resort. You could always break a window.

Hi...where we can buy a replase key

Replacement keys can be bought from the dealer spares , locksmiths and some auto spares shops . The big problem is that the key will have to be cut and then programmed to the car CPU and you will have to take the vehicle and the new key to he dealer service centre to have that done.

try this, put key in door and unlock/hold key over, windows may go down.then lock/hold key over, windows may go up,then press unlock button on remote for 30 secs, you have just reset the immobiliser system. If this dont work, rather than using those mickey mouse computers that just give you the codes, take your car to a dealer and get a "written diagnostic report"this will give you the opportunity of fixing the fault yourself or getting the dealer to do it for you....the "key"on the dash lights up only if correct key is used when the remote is faulty.battery gone.(thats a longer story....)

How do I reprogam keys for my 03 Buick Rondezvous. We lost a key a few years ago and last year bought a new key (to have a spare). The car dealership had said that I needed to bring both keys &...

Insert key and turn ignition to on position. Wait untill the "security" light goes out (about ten minutes). Turn key off. do not remove. repeat this step two more times. After third time remove key. You should now be able to start vehicle. To program the spare use the already programed key and turn it to the on possition (dont start) then off. remove key and insert spare and turn to the on position. Wait for "security light to go out then turn key off. Both keys should now be programmed.
