If I remember correctly, yours has a press in full round seal on the rear of the crankshaft. You will need to remove trans and flex-plate to get there.

Rear main leak seal

It's a one piece seal, and easy to install, but you will either have to pull the engine or drop the transaxle to get to it.

Can u change the rear main seals on a 1997 f250 truck by dropping the oil pan

no sir, you must drop the whole transmission.. the rear seal is on the back of the motor.

Leaking oil fro the bottom front I had the motor changed and they say its the main seal . But i want to do it myself

Its likley the Crank seal, also called front main ( rear main being the end that meets the transmission.

Its pretty easy to do you just have to remove the serpentine belt, and remove the crank pulley, then you can pry out the old seal with a pick or screwdriver, clean the area from dirt and debris. then put the new seal in place, you can use a large socket that fits the ring of the seal, and hit it in with a hammer, keep hitting evenly around the seal so it goes in straight

Rear main seal is leaking bad so I need to pull the motor (k1500 305)should I pull motor and trans together or just the motor. Any tips and shuold I replace anything else since I have the engine out.

you dont have too pull the motor!!
remove the radiator shroud, remove the distributor cap and rotor, take pipes lose from exsaulst manifold, take out motor mount bolts pick the engine up with a hoist, you now have enough room too drop the oil pan!!remove rear main bearing cap, take lower half of seal out of cap, too remove the up half of seal ,i use a small screwdriver too slide it around the crank ,
grease up the new one and it will slide right in!!
in spect the rod and main bearings while you have it apart and think about replacing them they dont cost much about 4.00 each and if you go that far replace the oil pump its not much either under 30.00!!

Is the rear main seal on a 1999 gmc yukon a 1 piece or 2 piece seal. Leaking oil real bad from back of motor.

its a one piece. should be the metal one with the rubber inside seal. of corse you gatta pull the tranny but its a good time to change fluids and maybe slap a new torque converter in. changing the rear main is pretty easy after the tranny is out.

My drivers side window went all the way down, but now wont come back up. How do I solve that?

You'll need to remove your door panel (screws are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door) and pull back the weather seal (can't reuse the seal) in order to see the assembly. It sounds like either the support arm broke, or the gears are stripped

Main seal

First is it a front seal ,or rear main seal,(front seal,being were you see the pulleys and fan belts,,you have to look at the bottom pulley,follow the shaft to the motor,where the shaft goes into the motor is the front seal,the pulley and everthing behind it has to come out then you pull out the seal,auto zone actually has free tool rental that you can pull the seal,and a tool to put it back in,if a rear main seal its where the shaft from the transmission meets the back of the motor,youll have to pull the trannsmission back,check where you see the oil leek from,the front seal you can do if mechanically inclined,but if its the rear you should take to a mechanic,if this helps please give me a fix ya vote

Front Main Seal is blown on the Transmission

You have to remove the transmission, remove the torque converter to access the seal. Most likely the bushing behind the seal is worn out allowing fluid to leak past the seal. After the trans. is out, take it to a trans. shop. It requires a special tool to change the bushing. Seems like a bunch of work for $10.00 in parts. The rear main seal requires pulling the pan to access it. When the trans. is out, this is the time to replace the rear main seal on the engine.
