Question about 2005 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

No visible sign of wetness in car, all is dry even when flooded by a hose from all angles from outside. Water soaks thick carpet pad drivers side floor only. Has been up on a lift, all plugs are in place. Dry under all plugs except this area. Discovered because carpet pad soaked and wet near trunk popper! (where carpet is cut and then I put my hand down in the space below and it was sopping wet. We have had a lot of constant rain.) I got it to dry out by propping open the area and stuffing in pieces of towels over many days, but when it was just about dry, another rain proved it to be an ongoing hidden leak somewhere. Trunk is dry, all carpet is dry. This is below the carpet only, flooding the carpet pad and floor, drivers side. HELP!! STARTING TO SMELL!!

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

All floor carpet gets wet when it rains

Get in the car and have someone flood the outside of the car with a water hose (no nozzle). Watch for leaks. Check all window seam, door jambs, etc. Water can travel quite a ways before becoming visible so do t be surprised if the leak is somewhere other than where the majority of the water is.

If your windshield is also fogging up you may have a leaking heater core. Feel and smell the wet area if it feels slippery and has a sweet smell its the heater core leaking anti-freeze.

Where is the water leak in my AC thats flooding the front carpet of my Chevrolet Venture. I have only been driving the car when the weather is dry. Even when I do not wash the car the inside of the carpet...

The a/c drains the condensation water out thru the floor by a small hose or tube.
If you look under the van near the passenger side floor at the firewall you should see a small tube and it may be stopped up.
You may have to put the van on a lift to find the tube.

I have a 1997 Camry, live in Hawaii. No sunroof. It rain very hard for 3 days. The car developed electrical problem with horn and parking lights staying on. Found the carpets damp and the car very musty...

It's possible the water is leaking through the front windshield seal, and making it's way along a wiring harnesses that include connections to the horn and parking lights. If the water gets to the fuse box, located under a panel by the driver's knees (be very careful if it's still wet), more electrical activity. The once wet carpet could become a mold problem. Please take it out and air dry it completely.

What would cause wet carpet and water on the passenger side floor

there is a leak because the foam has disintegrated, or the seal has broken open down by where the feet of the passenger is. Rust stains tell me that the leak may be caused by a break in the body somewhere.

Try spraying expanding foam in the area between the plastic and the metal parts to try to seal out moisture from coming into the passenger compartment.

Water leak passenger side in dodge caravan 2005 carpet soaked

look at the firewall on the engine side and you will see a small stub hose coming out on passenger side about even with the bottom of the heater box inside. that hose drains condensation from the ac...clear it out and you will have a dry floor. (unless heater core is leaking but you didn't mention any overheat or coolant loss so likely that's not a problem)

There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water...

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.
