2002 Monte Carlo, gauges/lights/beeping

I had it in the shop twice and they finally said they could not find the problem and I will have to wait until it breaks down.
I start the car and the ABS light comes on, like it has for well over a year. then I will drive a couple of miles and the security light comes on,
then the battery light comes on and the voltage gauge goes down to zero. now yesterday the oil gauge went down to zero also.
I checked the oil and it is fine. the car always starts ok.
also have to lock the car to get the interior lights to shut off.
sometimes have to turn on/off the headlights to get them to shut off.
I have no dash lights until the voltage light goes down to zero.
I am thinking the computer is all messed up?
I too do not want to start replacing things, I already spent about
3000 on problems. what to do? right now I am just driving it like this
as I have 150,000 miles on it...
anyone else have this problem?

It sounds like you may have a bad fuse distribution box problem due to the multiple electrical problems. Inspect the fuse box and look for any damages to the fuse box and wire harness, pay attention to the wire harness from the engine compartment to the cabin compartment, look for any damages and corrosion. Star with that to save you some money since time is money and the dealer will just take as much time as they can. Good luck and hope this help. Keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have.

My 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo ss has a miss. Rpm gauge jumps up an down while driving. Has new air filter, plugs an wires. Other suggestions?

Stop by any good parts store and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan) Most will do it FREE. They'll pull codes and identify what is causing your "miss"

How do i reset the low coolant light to go off after ive filled the reserve back up on an 2002 monte carlo ss

The sensor may be stuck or the circuit may be shorted. Get shop manual and do the testing they describe. You can't reset it!

2002 monte carlo fuel gauge doesnt work, pump works ok.

It is likely the fuel level sending unit. I had a customer with an 03 Monte Carlo that the pump went out and the fuel gauge hadn't worked in about a year. We replaced the fuel pump module and it took care of both problems. I believe the sending unit is available separately from the complete module.

My check engine light stays on, on my 2002 monte carlo.

You can disconnect the battrery for 5 minutes, this will reset the light and erase the trouble code, but if the problem is still there that turned the light on it will come back on in a few miles.

2002 Monte Carlo SS starting when it wants

The Starter silenoid is probably what the problem is. And the knocking could that be a loose starter? The two problems doesn't seem connected.

2002 Monte Carlo wont start

sounds like your passlock sensor on the ignition barrel is faulty. you will have to go to the dealer to have it replaced because of the programming after replacement.
