Try changing the inline fuel filter if you have not done so in a long time. Check fuel pump pressure, there should be a place under the hood on gas line where you can attach a proper gauge. If you do not have one, most autoparts sellers loan tools, or check it for free. The pump may be bad or the strainer on pump plugged.

yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

Is the vehicle a four cylinder or V6, either way if what they stated to you is indeed the only problem, there are a few Mcgyver options open to you for far less than what they quoted. The lever itself is only a metal arm with a protruding ball type fitting for the cable. The leftmost cable is for the cruise control. I take it the bushing on the cable is worn or the rod itself has the lip damaged. Either way from in the hood snap the accelerator linkage a couple of times and watch how the cable comes off. A small tie strap between the cable and the end of the rod will probably solve your woesmacvernal.jpg

I have a 2007 California Special it has it takes when I step on the acceleration pedal now it acts like it wants to die is it a throttle body issue

Check engine light lit ? or ETC - electronic throttle control .
It should be noted that the ETC system illuminates a powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench) on the instrument cluster when a concern is present. Concerns are accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and may also illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
Could be a throttle body issue or the APP or the PCM - engine computer .
Your best bet is to take your vehicle to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

I have a 2007 ford fusion and its idle by its self my wrench light came on and then went off. its sound like its missing. i know i need and oil change it acts like it dnt wanna take da gas. my check engine...

Normally when the wrench light comes on it relates to the electronic throttle body. When the computer detects a fault with the throttle body it will go into a fail safe mode and limit throttle inputs.
You should get your oil changes on time but I dont think this is your problem. You really need to get the vehicle codes read by the dealer or some auto parts stores read the computer codes for free.

I have a 2004 LS V8 & do all my own work

I can understand the battery failed as it was
more than 4 or 5 years old

The converters would have had to be damaged
in the accident if something got under the car
& damaged the exhaust pipes,no other reason

The Gas Pedal is called a Electronic Throttle
Control Module,I'm looking at my wiring diagrams
for a V6 &v8. I don't see that as an issue

The Throttle Body is almost always replaced at a dealer
& seldom an issue either. Reason --When you have a really
bad COP Ignition Coil it spikes your PCM & the signal
comes back on the TPS Sensor on the throttle body &
the pcm looses throttle plate % & starts to cut out
fuel injectors

Bottom line ,not many people like working on Ford Products
& the dealer will really cost you dearly & with negative results.

I have seen many codes related to coils & never more than
one bad one, while it could happen

It sounds as though 80% of your issues have nothing to do
with the accident.

We own one of the most complicated vehicles out there
It has Jaguar Technolgy as well

I don't know if any testing or diagnosing was done on your car
or if what was done invloved a body shop, then off the a dealer
or local repair shop, but I don't get a warm fuzzy fealing on anything
but the battery

As long as your wrench is light you have codes to at least look at

The ETC Failsafe on the right bottom side if dash is a BAD COIL
as I explained above. You will drive up to 22 miles in hot weather

The PCM you can see & feel under & behind the glove box
To remove it you have to remove the box on pass side of engine
compartment that covers the Cabin Filter as the 2 harness connectors
ar there down low

I doubt the PCM Failed

Go to a local shop that likes lincolns & just have them find
the one bad ignition coil.
them it will only go 6 mph in failsafe. Unusable for now

2006 mercury montego. DTC codes: 2104, 2121, 2126, 2131. Throws a check eng light then the wrench light. Car runs but loses acceleration. ETB and APP sensor changed. No change.

These codes relate to an electronic throttle body fault. Normally its from dirt, hardening oil deposits jamming the throttle body movement. Try cleaning the throttle body first before going down the replacement route. Hope this helps....

My 2006 ford expedition keeps jerking backwards while driving on mountains or pressing gas pedal. a wrench light came on i looked it up and it said something about a throttle safety thing

Spray the Throttle Plate on throttle body with
CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

If it continues you disconnect and plug the vacuum hoses
to the EGR Valve, disregard the dash light and drive up some hills
If it clears up install a new EGR Valve

Next if you still have little bouts with it under a load,
that is up hills (high vacuum signal) or on the gas pedal
and still pulling to get up to speed, then you move on to
the all known and all famous Ford ignition coils that
fail at the rate of 2 a year.

Then 3rd you move on to check out the TPS Sensor that
should have failed by now.

Now if you only understood that and didn't have to pay
someone for questionable results, I would have you a
happy motorist.

Wrench light

It may be that your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is bad or dirty. Try cleaning it, and if that doesn't work, then replace it. It goes for about $45, but if you take it to the stealership they'll run you over $200.
I had the same problem and got it fixed. Takes a couple of minutes.
