Question about Isuzu Trooper

Initial problem stalling at idle. Then intermitent no start. Poor idle when starting. Has been for recall on injectors. Re: Holden Australia Now in no start situation. Has had key re-programmed. Still no start. Immoboliser light is not flashing while cranking. Fuel solenoid has closed circuit at 10.9 oms. Correct grade of oil, has been changed twice. Fuel filters have been changed. Both oil pick ups have been checked and cleanest sump I've seen.

In the plug by the dipstick are the pink wires going to the injectors but one will be white/yellowish on the car side - remove this wire from the plug to see if the car starts then the rail oil pressure sensor is at fault because it may read ok but the car dont run !
Anti theft light goes off when cranking thats ok but the reading for the rail oil pressure control valve is important in a no start problem does it rise when cranking ? should be about 18-25% if it goes up to 90% then the lower oil pump is starved or pulling air or the rail oil pressure control valve is suspect,wants pulling out to see if its ok .

Things to get checked
is there oil in injector harness connector near intake throttle body?
if so rail pressure oil switch and loom need replacing. can see reading from this switch on tech 2 data display and compare reading with desired reading also check this reading while engine not running (should read close to zero) 0.02Mpa normal if any higher while engine not running it can be problem.
have you had any injector repairs or recall done recently?
have had faulty new injectors and also leaking injector seals/seats (bad workmanship from repairs done) this is a very tricky procedure
and new injectors need code programmed into engine ECU.
another thing that is common now with a few is crank angle sensors and wear in crankshaft thrust bearings (it looses crank angle senor signal and stalls especially manuals when you put your foot on clutch they stall when cold)
can check for RPM displayed while cranking with tech 2 (230-280RPM)

Holden Viva 2006 problems idle erratic running rough and stalling even when driving


Might have partial fuel line blockage either in the injectors or fuel line. Test fuel pump too. Try Air flow sensor giving false information (check air filter).... I know... obvious but worth a look.

No spark and no rpms showing on tach while cranking over?


when ignition switch is placed on "on", are several lights not lit on the instrument panel. Such as check engine, abs, battery, oil..etc!! All warning lights are to be lit momentarily when the ignition is placed in "on" position. This vehicle may be part of a recall in 2002, which replaces faulty ignition switches. Poor design of internal contacts and excessive power consumption leads to power failure to vital engine components. Typical symtoms include: intermitted stalling, no spark, hard starts. Inspect the ignition switch for dark residue, and replace if necessary!!

I have a 1999 Audi A4 2.8L - Last month it was stalling at low RPM after initial start idle kicked down. I put in fuel injector cleaner and it fixed the problem. Yesterday it returned and is shaking before...


Crank shaft sensor or air mass meter, is this a v6? I had the 2,6 a4 same fault same miles funny enough. changed the air mass meter is was ok after that. thing is they have so many sensors, you need to get it on a diagnostic machine to be sure.

My 1998 acura CL stops while I am driving. It would start immediately but today i had to be towed to a repair place. What would it be?


have the ignition switch checked. When this happens does the speedometer drop to zero?? Is there some warning lights "not lit" when the vehicle stalls?? If yes to either of this, its a ignition switch failure. You may also try starting the vehicle(if possible) in the park position, and shake the key while engine is running, it should die(sometimes it may not even if the switch is worn). Hondas/Acura models years 97-02 were recalled in 2002 for this issue. The internal contacts in the switch encounter excessive arch/shorts due to poor design and too much power running through it. This causes intermitted power failure to vital engine/vehicle electrical components, causing the engine to shut down/stall. This progresses in hotter weather!! If this is the case, contact your local honda/acura dealer with your VIN# at hand for recall info and possible free repair. Otherwise the switches range from $45-$95 at advance or autozone. Hopefully this helps...please rate....thanks

99 accord stalls turn off car wait minute it starts back up no problem


have the ignition switch checked....When the vehicle stalls while in motion, does the speedometer go to zero?? Shake your key while the engine is started and in park position....See if it stalls?? If yes possible faulty switch!! The switch has been recalled by honda since 2002....The internal connection that provides power to vital electrical parts shorts or has excess wear due to poor design. In this case power fluctuates and the motor stalls and other electrical parts shut off intermittedly. Call your local honda dealer to check if your vehicle is part of the recall, they may need your vin#. Hopefully this helps

Hi,

Since you did not post that the idle is rough, I would assume that what you are referring to is that engine will not idle when cold. Areas/components to check would be (depends on the regional version of your engine):
  1. auto throttle choke;
  2. Air idle valve (electrical);
  3. injector and injector pump (least likely).
Worst case scenario, have your compression checked.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
