SOURCE: Gas pump nozzle shuts off off repeatedly when refilling fuel tank

Try and see if the vent hose from the filler neck to the tank is kinked or plugged, if those are ok there must be a gas tank vent solenoid stuck closed.

SOURCE: Fuel Tank

I have had this problem. For me it's usually when the tank is really empty. I worked at a gas station and at times, I'd have to replace the gas nozzles when they wouldn't kick off correctly.. I suspect the problem is that the gas nozzle is picking up more gasoline fumes that are being displaced in the tank and venting thru the fuel filler opening. The gas nozzle detects enough gasoline vapors with it's sensor to shut-off the nozzle. One can slightly adjust the nozzle in the fuel filler opening (or wait a few additional seconds giving time for the fuel vapors to exit the fuel tank)) and it works great.. I do not believe it is a problem with the Blazer. It's a combination of the gas nozzle and the amount of vapor escaping the filler opening with the displacement of vapor in the gas tank. I've had this happen in my Ford Contour.
I hope this helps others.

I got in a accident and air bag deployed in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and it was still running good and all of a sudden it just shut off, does it have an emergency fuel shut off switch that we can reset for...

I searched using Google.com and the following suggested locations to check are shown below:

https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/where-is-the-fuel-inertia-switch-on-a-2010-hyundai-sonata-by-heather-b

"On some Hyundai models, the switch is to the right of the brake master cylinder. Look for a switch with a red button. Other locations that Hyundai has used for this switch are in the passenger glovebox area and in the trunk. Those locations might be concealed. For more detailed advice on how to locate the fuel cut off switch please see YourMechanic's fuel cut off switch tutorial. If your vehicle has not been in a crash, and it doesn't start, it is unlikely that this switch is at fault. If your vehicle is not starting, the appropriate diagnostic is a no start diagnostic. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you. "

I can't fill up with gas. Even when near empty, it shuts off the flow off gas. Makes as "burping noise" then lets me add another gallon or 2 and repeats. Help!

This is a common problem with many vehicles. The filler neck has an anti-siphon flapper in it that prevents siphoning the fuel. This also restricts air flow around the nozzle when filling. There is a vent tube, but it often isn't large enough to purge the air out of the tank as fast as the fuel is running in. There are two ways to alleviate this issue. First is to reduce the rate you fill the tank to allow more time for the air to purge. Another way is to pull the fuel nozzle back slightly from the vehicle to allow more room for air to escape around it. Ensure that the nozzle is still past the anti-siphoning flap however, or you may get fuel splashing back.

Fuel backs up when fueling

Check the evap fuel canister...make sure its not clogged with dirt or fuel. Check the evap canister vent solenoid- it should be open with the car off.

Fuel System while filling, excessive back pressure

It does sound like a vent problem, You can try not inserting fuel nozzle completely into gas tank neck when fueling., say half way this may help.

I can no longer pump gas into tank continuously. The filler backs up and shuts off fuel even when using gas pump manually.

You may have a problem with the fuel tank vent valve. This lets air into the tank as you use fuel and allows air out of the tank as you refill with fuel. If the valve is plugged or stuck shut the fuel nozzle will kick off as you try to refill the tank because the fuel can't get through the fill neck and into the tank as fast as it's being pumped in and will back up high enough to kick the nozzle off. Hope this helps and good luck!

Gas tank slow in filling

Rotating the nozzle in the filler hole can help.

What happens is that a little fuel splashes on the small holes in the nozzle which shut the nozzle off. Rotating it can alter the splashing, and/or move those holes in the nozzle away from where the splashing lands.

MOTOR SHUT OFF

most likely time for a fuel pump. will need to check pressure to confirm,. At least you verified its a fuel issue. Just make sure you didnt pop the fuel pump fuse and rotate the fuel pump relay with another to make sure the relay is not bad. When you turn the key on the relay should click.

2006 tucson cuts out while driving as if it is not getting enough fuel. No service lights come on, dealer cannot duplicate problem, but it repeatedly happens.

my tuscon (06) had the same problem. they replaced a part in the fuel line that determines the fuel/air ratio. can't remember what it is called though. maybe they can get it from this. i believe it was connected to the fuel line but not sure.
