I have found specifically,on the Accord, and Preludes, that there is excessive corrosion, actually in the light housing due to humidity.
It just needs the contacts cleaning.
There ya go.

Its probaly the wheel bearing that seized up, and you have to get the car towed, and get the bearing knocked out and replaced...Um sure the rear brakes are fine, because rear shoes dont really lock up, unless someone overtighten them, after doing a rear brake job...Goodluck...

How do i replace my brake light for my 97 honda accord. The third light.

If you will look in the trunk under that light you will see 2 holes on each side of the light. Inside those holes are the screws holding the light in place. Remove those screws and the light can then be taken out and the bulb replaced.

Brake lights not working

Having the sa but haven't replaces the brake switch. The owner's manual for my 99 accord indicates the the fuse is located behind a panel that is viewable when you open the door on the driver's side. There is a panel that you remove (pull off) to expose the fuses. The brake light fuse is the third one from the top on the left. 7.5 A

1999 honda accord ex v6

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.

My 91 accord had the same problem. There is an electric lock out solenoid under the shift console cover. Remove a couple screws on shifter cover and you will see it. I just bent the tab that contacts the shifter instead of replacing it. Done deal.
