I THINK because it's the same way on my 2000 SLK you hold in on the trip / odo button and it will reset. Hold it at least 5 seconds. If not that, you can call the dealer. If you speak with the service department, and just talk straight to them. Most of the time they will tell you how to remedy some situations. They dont like to, they like to make you come in and spend $400 worth of shop time to reset an oil change light. Some of them will though. Hope it helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: oil change

good morning and welcome to fixya.com. do you have an oil change light on that you are trying to reset or do you just want to set the minder on the computer in the overhead console. if its just the overhead console then go to where you want to and hold both buttons in until you hear a beep then the numbers will reset to zero for you along with you fuel mileage and economy gauge. good luck and let me know the outcome.

SOURCE: NEED OIL CHANGE

High mileage synthetic oil is a good option, especially if you have over 100k miles. If you want to go with the recommended oil for your vehicle, I would also recommend an additive such as Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. Been using it in my vehicles for years and I swear by it. It's a bit pricey ($20 range) but I go 6k to 9k between oil changes. You can read a little more about it here:

Good luck!

New oil change, new plugs, gas milage is down to 26 mpg, was 31mpg

Are you sure they used the correct oil? If they put a thicker viscosity oil in it then that would explain some of your loss of gas milage. Did they change the air filter. A clogged air filter will also take extra gas.

I lose my oil on a regular, I have changed my oil filter every two months

you might want to keep track of your milage an see how often or after how many miles you loose a quart of oil or more, also i see is a 2001 calavler, look for oil leaks onthe engine, specially around the valve covers and see if you have any oil spots on your parking spots, one way to check is leave a piece of carboard under the car when you get home and check it the next day when you leave, you will find out if it leaks oil while park or you may loose it while you driving.

the second advise is maybe go to a thickher oil since you have a use car, and am sure you have high milage, choose the right oil to depending on the climarte an your milage,
like one of my cars the label said 5w-30 but was consuming too quick so I went to 10w30 lasted longer was thicker oil but the car gave me no problems all it does allows to lub the engine better
when the engine is new the oil is light, and when the engine gets high milage some ppl go to thicker oil to get better compression .

good luck leave some feedback!

How do i read my 91 ford explorer odometer?

Are you looking at the odometer or the tripometer? If it only has 5 digits it does not read the tenths of a mile only whole miles. So just read it as milage like 10 miles not 1.0 miles.

Poor fuel milage on 2002 tundra. sr5 ext cab 4x4, 4.7l

when you tow your milage is going to go way down. If this is something you do a lot Then you need to invest in a on the fly ajustable computer and it will change your computer settings for the job you are doing on the fly. It will give you better performance for towing when you want to tow. better milage for driving when you want to drive. You can also use it if you want to change the tire size, it will allow you to change the tire size without loosing your speedomiter settings.
