Hi

The first thing you need to check is the Vehicle speed sensor on the transmission. It is highly recommend that the transmission is serviced every 30,000 miles to avoid problems and maintain optimal operating order.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My 2004 yukon would start then die i replaced the fuel filter and it will turn over but wont start the fuel pump is working what could be the problem

Mass air flow meter, crank position sensor, Water temp sensor all affect starting problems. Have a diagnostic test done on it to reveal any codes that come up that will pinpoint the parts causing the problem.

Hi what this warning mins ( trans hot idle engine) 2000 yukon 4x4 5.3?

It means that the transmission oil is overheating and you need to cool the oil by allowing the engine to idle for a period of time . The transmission oil cooler is in the radiator and that means that the engine temperature will also be running hot . Check oil level in transmission and adjust to correct level. Check the load being carried /towed as this makes the transmission torque converter work harder and the speed you are travelling at What ever the reason I suggest that you run the fault codes to check for transmission problems

Locate speedometer cable

The speed meter cable arises from rear middle side of the transmission and is attached to the rear of combination meter assembly. It is a two part system. One is the inner speed meter wire and the outer cable or sleeve, in which the inner speed meter wire rotates to show the vehicle speed. The speed meter cable is in some Toyota models is made up or two cables, a smaller cable near the transmission side and larger one towards the meter, which are joined together to form a single piece First look up the inner wire of smaller piece and then pull out the other larger inner wire, without removing the whole cable. If it is found broken, replace the whole assembly.
To replace the speed meter cable assembly, unscrew the cable at the transmission side. Sit on a driver's seat, open the Philips screws from under side of the combination meter. Pull out the whole cover by tilting it to release from the steering wheel. Unscrew the 4 Philips screws, pull out the meter assembly a bit, bend your claw to approach behind the meter assembly, push the speed meter plastic lock force fully towards the cable and pull out the cable.
Ask your companion to slowly pull out the cable from the engine compartment side and you also push the cable towards the same direction simultaneously to take it out.
Install the new cable in the reversed order of dis assembly.
Hope that works. Thank you.

Speed sensor does not work

In the tailstock of the transmission. I'm guessing you have a 700 R4 E transmission.

My problem with my 1995 GMC suburban is when the speed meter is not working the Trany dos not work good to, what i can do?.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A VARIABLE SPEED SENSOR! IT IS LOCATED ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION! IT WILL EITHER HAVE A SPEEDO CABLE ATTACHED TO IT, OR JUST 2 WIRES! WHEN THAT GOES OUT, IT WILL AFFECT YOUR TRANNY ALSO!

How do i replace a speed sensor on a 2001 yukon

look on the differential, that is where the speed sensor is normally located, if not there, check on the front of the transmission. All GM motors from 96 and up are electronic sensor for speed.

2005 gmc yukon speedometer doesn't work. Odometer still working though. How do i fix it? is it speedometer cluster?

It could be the cluster but I would look at the speed sensor first. It is located on the transmission. You should get a Haynes manual on your vehicle from the local auto parts store before going into the job.

Speed sensor and overdrive

OVERDRIVE ENGAGEMENT IS TIED TO THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT GO INTO OD UNTIL THE CAR REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED, IN MOST CASES AROUND 35-40 MPH, THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL TELLS THE ECU WHEN THE CORRECT SPEED HAS BEEN REACHED.
