Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

My 91 Camry only blows hot air, even without trying the a/c. Is the problem in the electronic control module or elsewhere under the dash? I'd think I could at least get it to blow cool air, but it stays on full heat no mater where I set the control. Also I can hear the a/c cut in if I turn on the a/c, but still only get full hot air. Would changing the electronic control fix, or is the problem in the internal boxes of the heater in the dash?

I would go and replace the ecm which is the brain computer and it tells the engine and its components what to do and if it is on the fritz then your car will start acting retarded and it will only perform at a minimal rate of success.

2007 toyota camry LE 2.4L does it have a heater control valve?

There is a blend door in the heater box in the passenger compartment. This door mixes the air from the outside and routes it through the heater core. If it is stuck, then no air comes through the heater core. Check for the levers under the dash by the center console and see if they move.

I have a 2001 Toyota Camry that blows hot air no matter what the temp control is on. even blows hot with a/c on.

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The door could be stuck or the motor could be bad.

'02 Buick LaSabre. heater blowing cold. Things I've tried. Plenty of coolant in the system. With engine running and warmed up, checked both heater hoses and they are hot to the touch. What do you think?

hi, some cars have a HEATER FLAP. if not CLOSING then cold air will be blown in. LEAVE ENGINE OFF and check the lever and listen for the SLAP of the flap CLOSING. the control cable is faulty. or the ELECTRONIC HEATER CONTROL NOT WORKING or the HEATER RADIATOR (UNDER DASH is BLOCKED). or AIR in SYSTEM. needs bleeding. gerry

Blower motor is good but blow

You have a problem with a baffle controller in the plentum(blower duct);
ck the heater fuses in the box under the driver dash and also ck the electronic control center box, (under hood I think) and look for a heater/blower relay and try to swap it with another relay that may be indentical just for test ;and replace as necessary. I think the baffle controls are electrical because they switch properly in my '91 without the motor running, ie, not vacuum controlled.
good luck.

Heating system

it is the control module u set for heat/ac in the center of the dash, all the electronics are in side this module that do the switching and maintain the temp u set

Air not blowing out top dash vents

Just posted my suspicions elsewhere:

The baffles that direct air, heated or cooled, are controlled by vacuum 'motors.'
You may have a vacuum line off somewhere or the vacuum reservoir is cracked or one of its connectors (thin plastic protrusions) is broken.

AC blows hot

I think you should check the air manifold on the control panel and try to find any broken or loose hose.
In addition, check the heat/cold dial knob, under the dash, there is a panel selector for hot air or cold air.
Also check for any broken vacuum hose under the hood.
