Loss of fuel pressure on 1988 ford ranger

Truck runs fine until get warm, replaced both fuel filters, new tune up, and distributer cap and coil

Some of these trucks had 2 fuel pumps. One in tank other in frame rail. Possible bad/weak pump.

dont forget the trans-if auto then the torque converter or other cud b worn--do a pressur test on trans--------also the injector drivers in computer cud hav issues----may want to do a compression test on engine too--the gaskets are aging also as well as the sensors etc--must b a lotta miles on car--amsoil synthetic will rejuvenate any seals in engine--1st time u use it -u see leaks outside while it cleans motor then u drain and nex change its cleared up

Check the compression? You replaced all the items to make it run. remove the air filter and check? If compression is below 90 then bad rings or valves. Check the fuel pressure. to see if you have bad rings with low compresion spray oil in cylinders, if pressure goes up it's the rings. If nto it's the valves.Try these and let me know.

Holding to floor goes really fast or not? If not, check for burnt valve.
