The heater core is located on the passenger side of the passenger compartment under the dash. There is a possibility that this is leaking. When the heater core leaks there is generally a sweet smell and the windows will fog up inside of the car. The A/C's evaporator core is also located in the same housing unit. It could also be an AC problem.

problem solved, open the hood and remove the 2 plastic clips that hold the plastic cover to the air intake, under the wiper blade on passenger side, pull the piece out with a small tug, you can now see the cabin air filter, reach down to the right of it all the way to the bottom of the firewall and you will feel a rubber drian that is plugged, clean out the dirt or pine needle with your finger or push the stuff through to clean, when plugged the compartment fills with about 2 gallons of water and leaks into the cabin air filter, it can also happen on the drivers side, you have to remove the wiper blades to get to the drivers side, this will work and you will have no more water leaks, just fixed mine a hour ago after being flooded at the car wash.

Hi, The heater core is most likely to leak, but it will be hard to remove. First you will have to drain the system to prevent anymore spillage. Then you can rip apart the lower right side of the dash to access the heater. Keep all the parts you will need them to reinstall the new core. Then refill the fluid with 50/50 mix. Note; Make sure that you get all the air out of system. Good luck.

Sounds like you have a leaking heater core, the other possible is that the condensation drain for the A/C is clogged and not draining outside vehicle it should be draining out the right side

SOURCE: leak onto floorboard

Here is what all dealers do to find water leaks, we spray a fine mist of water on the car near where the water might be comming in with a spray nozzle, someone gets inside the car and look for the leak, there is no other way, and I have been doing this 30 years.

Which means your heater core is leaking,it's bad,the A.C.drain is on the passenger side, will drip on the right side under firewall.

2005 buick lesabre AC hose plugged leaking water onto passenger floorboard. How do I fix this?

You need to find the drain pan line that comes through the firewall. Open the hood and search for the line on the passenger side firewall. The line is probably clogged from insects, animals, or other gunk. use a short piece of dowel or wire to unclog the line and allow the pan to drain to the outside of the vehicle.

I just found my floormats and floorboard soaking wet, can you explain?

on the passenger side? if it is the passenger side is your heat exchanger carrying the coolant that is used to regulate the cabin temperature. it is under the dash. Usually what happens is that the condenser (heat exchanger) the drain hose coming thru the firewall inside the engine compartment (passenger side) clogs not letting drain the water removed from the cabin during the AC cooling process. then the water start to bleed thru the joints of the box enclosing the heat exchanger. the solution is to blow or vacuum the protruding drain hose to clear the water path.

Now if the soaking carpet smell like coolant the problem is different.

Look underneath behind the passenger side front wheel. You might need to remove the plastic mud guard. It would be easier to see if you jacked it up and put it on jack stands.
