Question about Dodge Intrepid
I have a 97 intrepid that was running great but recently stalled and has been difficult to start ever since. I know the fuel pump is the problem but I am not sure if it needs to be replaced or if it can be repaired. I can start the car if I tap the fuel pump with a screw driver and the pump can be heard working for a few seconds but then pump stops unless I tap it again. I was able to drive it across town to get it home but I could only drive a block at a time and had to pull over pop the trunk and tap the fuel pump to get it started again each time. Is there a possible vapor lock in the pump or do I need to replace it? And if it could be a vapor lock, how do I fix that?
You should replace pump its getting hot and shutting off you should also replace fuel filter
