If the battery itself is good, check the connections going to the battery. One of the biggest culprits for draining a battery is a loose connection. It either doesn't allow the battery to charge fully because of a lack of contact or it will connect and disconnect while running and run down the battery.

Most parts stores like Pep Boys etc... will test batteries for free in-store, so take it in, get the battery checked, and when you put it back in if it is good, make sure the posts are tight, and the wiring to the fusebox and grounding cables to the frame are also tight and not corroded.

Charges ok, battery was replaced, connections cleaned and painted, ran fine for almost three months, then battery went flat again, checked altenator clleaned and greased connections, van ran fine for any...

I would check and clean any wire and connection between the alt and the battery and all grounds. Also check and see if charging voltage is the same at the battery post as it is at the lug on the alt.

Alternator appears to not be charging the battery. No error indications, everything is working but I had a dead battery (which took a charge and is at 12.4 volts on its own). Multimeter does not go up...

Batterys sometimes get sulfated and throw off any charge given them. replacing the battery is the first course I would take. Then check the alternator output. It should have a voltage of 13.0-13.8v for a normal charging battery. Internal voltage regulators are set to keep the battery charged when all the devices are being used. Check the large nut at the back of the alt to see what that voltage is. It holds the large cable to the battery to the output terminal of the alt. Then check the small wire terminal for power when the ignition switch is turned on. This activates the alt to turn on and charge the battery. Sometimes there is a mega fuse in the main fuse/relay center under the hood for the alt, check that also. Problem should be fixed now. I presume vou've already checked the cables are clean and not corroded to the battery, that will mess up everything all by itself.

My 1994 nissan, the alt/oil light, battery light keep flickering.

It could possibility be bad or loose connection on the alternator or battery wiring, or a loose alternator belt. All those lights come on when the battery isn't getting a charge, so the alternator is where I'd start looking.

Elec problem between alternator and battery

Rest at ease the 14 volts will not hurt your system idealy your alt will charge at around 14 to 14,5 volts at the alternator and probably have a slightly lower charge rate at your battery at around 14 to 13.5 at the battery this is completely normal

My 1996 nissan altima wont keep a charge ,I had the alt checked replaced the batt checked for ground (negative post) same thing batt light and loosing charge

Cables from alt to battery can be deposited/burned/oxidized. In this case battery wont get charged. Also check the alternator connections. Cable might be burned or not tight enough
Also serpentine belt might be not tight enough
Good Luck
