Question about Toyota Sequoia

1 Answer

Ever since I purchased the 07 sequoia i have complained about rough shifting and was always told either the problem could not be duplicated or that the truck was in a "learning " mode for the 1st 15000 miles and would adjust to my driving. At 45000 I still notice a rough shift like something is sticking. This occurs on braking and more likely to occur when braking harder. I also notice a "release" sometimes sitting at a stop .

Sounds like a secondary ignition problem to me. See if you can duplicate the symptom by using a spray bottle to spray a "mist" around the engine compartment.

2006 toyota sequoia, upon turning the ignition, there is a clicking noise, rough start but the car does turn on, the battery meter goes right to the mid point, therefore I don't think it is the battery....

a hard click, each time u try to start until the conatcts on the starter meet then it spins. Starter bad , but if u know how to take the cover off the solenoid u can see the replaceable contacts (usually just one side worn) and u could purchase at a starter rebuild shop and fix it for under $12.00

High idle and running a little rough, sluggish in 2006 sequoia

Check the throttle body and see if it has build up around the butterfly. If so, clean the butterfly with throttle body cleaner. This may be it. There are other possibilities but this is a simple inspection.

Should a '07 cadillac srx ever need a front end alignment?

Best thing to do is take it in for a 4 wheel alignment. There is always a chance that a part is wearing out, or has been bent.

Sounds like you need the updated engine computer for harsh shifting. Look up under the glove box at the computer. Number should be 89661-02K21 if not, you need the update. It is an 8/80 warranty item.
