Question about 2006 Suzuki Forenza
2006 Suzuki Forenza....when coming out of reverse and put it into drive, a slash appears in the area that is suppose to show D for drive so I have to go into 3rd gear to drive. Neutral and even Park shows the same slash.
This is something that a transmission shop will have to fix. also sounds like the sensor on shifting of transmission isnt receiving proper shifting signal.

It is the neutral safety switch/range sensor. This is a known problem in these cars and not covered by the drivetrain warrantee. Fairly simple replacement for a trans shop BUT DON'T LET THE SHOP CHARGE YOU FOR THE PART. BUY IT YOURSELF. The part can be bought online for anywhere between $35 and $60. The shops (at least in this area) will charge over $150 for it.
