Go to a reputable alarm repair shop that installs radios and alarms so you dont mess it up and they can install an aftermarket one in case you want one.

What can I do the passlock keeps coming on and interrupts the caes running. I have tried to remove it but it keeps coming.

There is NO way to disable PassLock. It's an anti-theft device. Disabling it would defeat the purpose of anti-theft---Unless you know how to dig into the software and rewrite it. Fix it.

99 explorer alarm disables. Motor dies

Anti-theft system can keep vehicle from starting , Alarm is for vehicle content theft , open door without key alarm sounds (horns) ! PATS - passive anti theft system PATS enables and disables the engine from starting ,it will not cause the engine to die ! You have some other kind of problem ! If the vehicle engine doesn't turn over an red light on top of dash flashes fast ,then you have anti-theft system problem !
PATS differs from the perimeter anti-theft system in that PATS enables and disables the engine from starting. If equipped, the perimeter anti-theft system protects the perimeter of the vehicle (doors, hood and trunk) and sounds an alarm.

My 1999 Chevy Lumina will not start. The mechanic has tried to reset the Anti theft device but it will not work. He suggest I get a new theft device. The cost is 350 plus labor. The car is 10 years old so...

right--is the problem at the ignition switch? The method at http://vats.likeabigdog.com/ bypasses the steering column. I have used this method successfully. All you need is a few resistors, an ohmmeter, and a soldering gun/iron. A complete bypass of the system is much more complicated, but there is a guy that sells a kit. I don't remember who he is, but I found him by googling.

How does the anti theft system on a 1989 lincoln town car operate? My drivers door will not open, the latch that is connected, will not budge.

Well i have a 93 and the anti theft works by monitoring your hood, doors, trunk and ignition through various types of sensors. Has the ability to turn on horn, hazards, disable the starter. Sorry don't know what you mean by the latch that is connected will not budge. Do you mean the door handle? Ok the handle will not budge! Do not think that that is an anti theft system problem. I heard of the doors locking you might try a key. But on the 93's not even. So I think you have another problem. Good luck and thanks

Hesitation in starting and getting worse

if others dont know about it it could prevent the theft of your vehicle...it might not be a bad idea to leave it alone casue theres no telling what it would tkae to disable it and getting into your wiring could create more issues than just disabling the anti theft system

Starter disabled due to theft system

the wire that goes to the ignition to the anti theft device is probably broken if you call a good locksmith they can go in through the steering column and fix it same thing happened to my 95 eldorado apparently cadillac designed the anti theft system to coincide with the ignition and is connected to the ignition with two wires that turn as the key is turned the wires twist and eventually they wear out
