Sounds like the headlight switch or connections to the switch are faulty.

Faulty Headlight Relay. Plastice box under the bonnet/hood. has fuses and relays( a plastic cube that plugs in) sometimes the connections get dirty, pull them out and push them back in several times to clean them and make a better connection. Replace if this not a success

Headlight knobs are attached to a long stem into rueastat switch (dash light dimmer ) push the small button spring loaded of headlight switch behind dash panel. Knob with stem will come out. Careful not to turn on headlights & run battery dead.

When i turn my headlights on my dashboard lights do not come on

Hello

If you have a push/pull type headlight switch just turn the knob clockwise (with the lights on) to brighten the dashboard lighting. It is designed this so that you can control the brightness of the dash in darkness.
Someone might have done some work on the wiring and got things reversed, the only option for you is take it back to the dealer and show them whats wrong and it should be under factory warranty take it to a dealer they may fix it for free.

Need to change headlight switch on dash went bad

Use a pocket screw driver - pull light switch knob out and pull back on metal retainer for knob until it releases . Remove insteument panel bezel around cluster and remove screws that retain the switch assy and rwmove switch and unplug connector- note it may be melted and hard to remove ! Once out push the button on the bottom of switch assy while pulling out rod , remove the the rod . If connector is melted obtain a pigtail connector and cut and solder a new connector in and install switch in reverse order ! Note that useing diaelectric grease in connector to switch helps with conductivity and helps block moisture !

How do i get the light knob off of the dash so that i can take off the instrument panel?????

On the bottom of the headlight switch under the dash, is a little release button with spring underneath it. Push in on button while pulling back on knob. The knob will pull outward.

Can not get headlight bucket to come out far enough to replace bulb on my 2005 BUICK TERRAZA

There are 2 fasteners that hold the headlight in place, 1 screw and 1 pin per light.
Their location is on the top mounting flange of the headlight. The pins are located toward the center of the vehicle and the screw is located toward the outside.
For removal: turn the pin toward the light then pull it straight up removing it, next remove the screw and the headlight assembly and the light will pull strait out allowing access to the bulbs and sockets. Reverse the process for installation.

Need to change the headlight switch how can i do it myself? Where to buy it?

Pull the neg.batt. cable off.You may have to remove the knee blocker panel to make it easier.
Pull h/light switch on. Look up under the dash at the switch. On the bottom of it is a retainer button.Push on it and at the same time ,pull on the headlight switch knob. This will remove the knob and its shaft from the switch block. You then remove the electrical connector and unscrew the ferrule nut off the front of the switch from the front of the dash.It goes back together the opposite. If you get another switch from a wrecking yard(cheapest way)Work the switch and pull it apart while you are still there.Sometimes they are pulled apart and broken when they are 'forced' out of a car.Hope this helps

2008 chev uplander headlight

You must reach around to the body of the headlight switch and feel for a small round dot about 1/8 inch in diameter. This button is spring loaded and pushes in as you pull on the lightswitch knob, then you must push it a second time to release the knob. Please make sure your battery is disconnected while performing this procedure for the headlights will stay on otherwise. Then remove the retaing collar at the center and the switch will pull "back" from the dash enough to remove the wiring harness. Thank you, Dana

Headlight switch removal. Once I can get at the switch how does it come out?

take off dash trim, under the switch is a button, push it in and pull out the knob. remove bolt holding switch and you will have to wiggle to get it out. when putting in the knob sometimes it will not want to catch, pull out knob rotate 120 and insert again, this was the hardest part.

Head lamp switch removal

if switch is mounted on turn signal lever: remove steering column covers screws are on the bottom of lower cover. once covers are removed you should see mounting screws for the multi-switch(thats what they call headlight/turn signal switch combo). remove screws and connectors & replace switch w/new and reverse procedure.
