If the engine wants to stall as you accelerate, and sometimes cuts out at highway speeds,...Its the fuel pump,If it misses at idle, and while driving, its the fuel filter,Have the fuel presure checked,or change the fuel filter, when you change the fuel pump, also ghange the fuel filter.

Fuel pressure test should only take 10 minutes at a garage to confirm, but if not available, when it quits, spray quick start or wd-40 into intake of throttle body for a second or 2. If it fires your probably guessing right. Personally I'd change fuel filter first, just in case, and you'll want that changed if you need fuel pump anyway.

Where is the emergency fuel shut off switch located on a 1993 chevy suburban?

There is no emergency fuel shut off switch on your vehicle , ford vehicles have one , called inertia fuel shut off .
If they replaced the fuel pump an your still having the same problem i would check fuel pump relay and the electrical circuit for the fuel pump . Voltage drop testing the electrical circuit will show problems most people would attribut to a bad fuel pump , but it's not the pump.
Testing Electric Fuel Pump Problems with Voltage Drop Test
Fuel pump electrical circuit diagnosis no fuel pressure testing GM

I would take it back an tell them to fix it correctly . or demand your money back .

there is code that does not turn on the service engine soon. have code retrieve. And when the problems occured have fuel pressure check. You have to find out if the problem is electrical or fuel and air .Another way to find it is move engine harness while engine running if it stall could be short to ground or wire cut open

2002 chevy suburban cutting off while driving. Start it up in the morning and i'll cut off within 20-30 mins down the road, once running for a while it's fine. whats the problem???

Fuel Pump may be bad & stops at times

Will only get worse & you'll get stuck somewhere
if that is the issue

Then it could be any number of things that may take
some time to find & several shops until you find one that
can solve something

Keeps blowing fuel pump fuse on my 2001 dodge van 5.2 after driving a few miles

These trucks are bad to chaff wires.if it runs 15 -20 min. in park but blows the fuse within a few miles of driving you almost definitely have a wire shorting out. this can be tedious to find. good luck

My 2005 saturn L300 stops after about 20 min of driving and if you wait 30 min to an hour it will start up and the same thing happens again. I've been told it is the fuel pump, what should that cost to...

What is the basis for determining it is the fuel pump? If it is a fuel system pressure loss, that is probably a good diagnosis, provided that the fuel pump relay is confirmed to be on (voltage present on the fuel pump). I had a vehicle with throttle body fuel injection that did the same thing. I tracked it down to the fuel injector driver transistor inside the ECM - one of the leads inside would open when the transistor got warm.

Fuel pumps cost $60-$350. The lowest price I've found was on the Amazon website. Most of them are listed above $240. Note: GM used mostly Delphi parts (typically $240). At that price, it pays to be sure you have the right diagnosis. Ask questions...

hello,
You have a bad oil pressure switch. I know that sounds strange but It feeds the fuel pump. Some times randomly the PCM does a self check and shuts off the fuel pump relay when it does this it runs off power from the oil pressure switch. The easiest way to confirm this as a diagnosis is to unplug the fuel pump relay when the engine is running. If it dies when you unplug it thats it. if not you will probably need a fuel pump or possibly just a cap and rotor (tune) but I belive it is the oil pressure switch.

Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.

check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump

94' Jeep Gc shuts off while driving. wont restart for hours!!

Sounds like either the fuel pump is going bad and overheating, or, the crankshaft position sensor is going bad...both items will give similar symptoms. Both are not terribly difficult jobs but are time consumers. Before doing either repair, you need a code scan and better diagnosis than I can give you here without a hands-on examination. Fuel pump can be diagnosed by spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking in "no start" condition. If engine fires up then stalls it's a pump problem. If not then it's a spark control problem.
