I have 1995 Toyota 4runner v6 automatic 4 wheel drive will not pass smog testit is the CEO percentage is at 2.77 and it's supposed to be at 1.00 what can I do to fix that problem I have to get up plugs wires cap and rotor change the oil filter Oil air filter timing belt just the airflow I also even put it in time what can I do to solve this problem
Two most likely problems, Bulb failure as you remove the unit, and earth to the car body which must be present in my cars lights ie negative terminal is the car body. I also had one light on the number plate light where the terminals bent on insertion.
cud be many things with an old trans-ther very complex--but 1st make sure fluid is full-testit while runnin-shud be red and not gritty feelin--changeit with new filter if not--tv or throttle valve may need ajustin too--some units have sensors and ther own computer--bring it to a reputable mech if no relief--caution-alot of trans guys are liars
wow, i was on autopartswarehouse.com looking at those pvc parts, they vary in $$$ and the one that caught my eye sounded like yours at $80 and it had a 2 pin male terminal, female connector with one hose connection. Shop around for this part at local auto parts stores. If you have to ,stop by ford dealer and get a part # and description (check their price also ) shop for a reasonable price, i bet ,maybe im wrong, but the dealer is going to be over hundred bucks !!!
Cant give an answer to why until you check a couple of things,HUse a testlight/probe to check wether you have power to the bulb holders Take a bulb out of the ones that dont work and touch the terminals with a testlight/probe if there is no power trace the wiring to the bulb that does work and find the break in the wire.If there is power then the earth is probably no good .With the existing bulbs in place push from behind the bulb holder terminals so they are firmly against the bulbs terminals to guarantee contact and eliminate as fault.Check that they are correctly fitted and the right type etc .Also the terminals ,bulb/globe,must match the terminals in the bulb holders. This problem is usualy an issue with the earth being no good but have tried to cover all possibilitys.Do you have trailer plug that is damaged?
