The nuts should be captive and welded to the frame of the car, actually if I remember correctly, they should be studs welded to the body/ frame and nuts should hold the seat to the floor.

Remove female seat belt recepticle

Due to Federal Safety regulations, the normal way for this belt to be secured to the car is by a big bolt which is fastened to the body of the car with a nut that cannot be removed. Often, the anchoring bolt is underneath the carpet, and may require quite a bit of the interior of the car on that side to be removed to gain access.
If you have a junk yard/salvage yard nearby, go there and find out what to do, because cars there should have some seats removed.
Be blessed.

Replacing driver's seat on 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE

For this year model, I would recommend finding a seat at a salvage yard. It will be considerably cheaper than purchasing one online (shipping) or buying a new one from the dealer (outrageous mark-up).

As for replacing it, most GM products are fairly simple to remove the seat from. I haven't replaced the seats in this particular year model, but I would start with looking for four studs running up from the floor of the car where the feet of the seat supports bolt to. It's normally or 5/8" or 3/4" nut holding the seat rails (feet) to the studs. On SOME GMs, depending on the year model, the studs are actually bolts and made need to be secured from underneath the car with a wrench to hold them still while you're removing the nuts... kind of a pain, but definetly a DIY job.

One thing... if you happen to have side-impact airbags on the car, be sure to disconnect the battery cables before removing the seats. If the airbag accidentally deploys, if can cause injury.

Good luck!

Remove drivers seat on 2002 malibu

Seat is on rails. Look at the back of the rails, remove those two bolts and the whole thing will then tilt up and forward and come out. If there are wires you will have to disconnect the plug.

The driver seat isn't well fixed

most cars have four bolts that hold the seats in.  Remove these and unplug the harness and you can inspect everything.
