Question about 1999 Ford Expedition
It is rare that the egr goes bad, but it is common for the port to get clogged with carbon over time.1 remove the tube at the egr with a 1-1/16 wrench. 2 use a 10 or a 8mm socket to remove the 2 bolts that hold it to the intake. 3 with it out, get a coat hanger and push in the center hole where it was attched to intake and **** the hole. do this a few times. 4 get some intake/ throttle body cleaner and spray it inside the hole. 5 put back together. 6 start car, it may run rough for a little. to help hold gas pedal until 1500rpm for a few seconds until it clears up. depending how clogged it is this should do the trick. if still clogged then there is more you can do. try this first and let us know how it went. best of luck

Well there is a plate the egr is attached to tha contain passages that build up carbon, most likely the egr is functional.Inspect and clean those passages first. As for the oxygen sensors there may be an underlying concern such as a Vacuum leak that contrbutes to the performance of the sensors, remember just because a code exists does not mean that a part is always at fault.
