Your son has triggered the security system, that is why it won't start, take the key and lock and unlock the drivers door, if that doesn't work do the same to the front passenger door. also the remote will disarm the security system, this should disarm the system and allow the car to start, anytime you open the door with out a key like your son did the security system will lock out the starter motor. If the above doesn't disarm the alarm you have a problem in the security system module and the dealer will have to test this for trouble. codes.

it doesn't lock up the computer it just disables the starter motor circuit, what happened is a normal response of the security system, reaching inside and using the inside door handle to open the car triggers all security systems, no matter who makes the car. If u have been unable to reset the anti-theft module do the following, of course this all depends on your skill level how far you take the following repair.

I suggest that you try removing the fuse that powers the door locks and the interior lights, for about 1/2 hour, then try the door lock/unlock routine after putting the fuse back in, and then try to start it. That is fuse #19 in the junction box that you will find behind the dash on the left side. Open the drive door and remove the end cap cover of the dash to access that box and its fuses. Try the lock/unlock on the other door if the first attempt doesn't work.
If that doesn't work, then let me know and I will describe how to use a 620 ohm and 2700 ohm resistor (just a small 1 watt size of each will do the trick) which will simulate the lock/unlock at the body control module's plug where the wire from the door switch is located. You will find that module on the back side of the junction box and you will remove the lower dash panel (that holds the hood release) to gain good access to its four plugs (the blue plug is the one that we will work with). You will want some straight pins to poke thru the wire, and one jumper wire to obtain a 12v supply from one of the fuses to apply to each of the resistors, and some a jumper to connect the resistor to the wire in question. But try the #19 fuse disconnect/reconnect routine first as that might work. Of course leave the overall battery connected to the vehicle.
You can get the resistors at an electronics store. They don't have to be exactly the ohm size I listed but as close as you can get.

this sounds like the BCM has failed, u are going to have to go to a dealer.

The BCM requires the dealer to program it for your cars security system, otherwise you will still have a car that won't start, there is no other way to do it.

CHECK BATTERY IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS. IF ALL IS GOOD.YOUR PROBLEM IS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. OR THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.IT WILL CAUSE PCM FUSES TO BLOW.

'01 Nissan Sentra stalling when stopped - shop has had it 5 months: help!

If the idle air control valve is working, the passage may be clogged. Other things to check are the PCV flow and possible vacuum leaks.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r7427423-fix_poor_idle_high_idle_stalling_fuel . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with engine size info.

My 94 volvo GL die on me on the road. Took it to the mechanic and call me next morning that nothing is wrong. It start right quick. Couples days later will not start. Took it to the dealer for diagnostic...

Have the dealer look for soft codes and to check the connections to the starter and the battery and to check the alternator for proper charging. Volvo alternators have a circuit inside of them that when it goes bad it will cause the car to stop running without warning.

Vehicle dies

Sounds like a possible fuel pump problem...When they begin to go bad they will overheat and lock up, then work fine for a while and do the same thing again. By changing the filter you lowered the flow resistance and allowed the pump to work a bit easier but still being bad, it did the same thing again. There are other things that can do this as well, but pump is most common.

Another very likely problem is the throttle position sensor. Is the check engine light on and have you checked the codes? If not, do so. The code won't tell you for sure, but I'll bet it points to the throttle position sensor.
