2001 X5 creaking sound from front end

Ours made a creaking sound when driving slowly and turning or going over bumps. I found some advice on X5world and the consensus seemed to be the front control arms. Our ball joints were OK but the rubber in the control arms was dry and cracked. I replaced them "4 hour job" and the noise quit for a time now it's back after two years. I'm scratching my head again as the new control arms still look like new the rubber is in good condition.

Banging noise

It sounds as though something is loose, probably in the front end. Check, or have a shop check the front end components or for any loose body parts that could be causing the nose. I hope this helps.

Expedition creaks from front end

It's a Ford- they all do it over time; I've owned Ford's all my life and they still make the same sound today that they did back in '64.[LOL]

I had a complete over haul done on the front-end of my '01 Excursion [4 X 4]- last year; upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, locking hubs, shocks, brakes, tires- you name it...$5,000.00 later- and as soon as I drove it out of the shop- the same noisy creaky front-end.

Now does that mean you should forgo having the front-end inspected by a mechanic because of my comments; HECK NO!

I Know what it's like to have an upper ball joint fail- I was driving a 2-door coupe Monte Carlo on I-84, getting off the exit ramp that had something of a hair-pin curve to it- luckily I was going slow when BAMMM- the right tire caved in. No bodily injury to me and no body damage [other than the wheel falling off ] to the car. The weight of the front end collapsed on to the wheel and rim.

So heed my advice, for your safety and for the safety of you family [and other occupants] get the car checked by an ASE certified mechanic who knows how to inspect and repair the front-end of your car.

Ford ka creaking on drivers side when driving over bumps in road or turning

Is this a suspension creak, or a door creak?

Components which you haven't had changed are:

bottom suspension arms
Anti roll bar links

Also lubricate your door lock mechanism, hinges and window rubbers as these can cause creaks from time to time.

Creaking 2001 isuzu rodeo

our first creaking ever.
love that.( its haunted? LOL)

nobody can fix a car, if you can't demo it
not heard, can't fix it if it is not broken, rings true here.
when you do that, they are forced to guess, at your expense.
its an Implied GUE$$

first off you need to find out when it happens. exactly
first. (bounce car hard parked)?
only turning, only at bumps, when?
only moving, I guess
it can creak and be AOK,
for example the front stabilizer bar is mounted in rubber mounts
and will creak. and be ok. (so spray them)

why not buy a can of SILICON spray ,and spray
all things under car that moves,
all things, not the drive shafts.
there are swing arms, Arms, and many things to make noises in the the whole suspension systems.
it could be tie rods failing (bad that)spray them.
if have weeks to find it spray 1 at a time>? tedious.
any suspension shop in town knows what to do.
find one.
a real shop can use his electronic 4 channel stethoscope
and drive it and find it. but must FAIL for HIM.

Loud creaking sound when driving from front end 1997 Grand Voyager... not sure if it is shocks, or something worse. No popping sound that I can notice - just creaking. Not sure if safe to drive for another...

hi it could be the shocks, but normally they don't creak, they would normally work as normal but bang if you hit a bump, this sounds more like rubber bushings have worn or are very dry, have a look under the front of your car, and see if you can see any rubber items that have either perished or have worn, you can try getting some wd40 or some spray lube and just hitting all the rubber items with this then trying it and see how you go, i cant be 100% for obvious reasons ( i cant hear it for the main one ) but that's what it sounds like, try that first ...hope this sorta helps

Knocking trom font of car when....

sounds like a cv axle noise i have found you cant change inner without outer, for the time spent you should replace the axle as a whole,,much easier too. front wheel drive cars are hard on front end bushings and etc. the coil springs seem to sqirm in there saddles when they get old too making creaking noises, no big deal on ford escort, tempo, topaz, sable,,,,,

Creaking sound while turning steering wheel

There's a chance that the ball joints need grease. This should help, however once they have started to make noise like that due to lack of grease, they usually have gone bad. Replacement may be the only remedy. Hope this helps.
