Sounds like you are refuring to the two rocker switches which control the front driving lights (fog lights). They have a light within the rocker switch which indicates when they are active. One works the fog lights when headlight are off & the other when used inconjunction with headlights.
Hope this helps. If the fog lamps are mnissing or removed then the switches are meaningless. the harness attachments may still be in place at each end of the frame where the bumber attaches. If so you can easily install new lights and have a brighter & safer drive.

Where is the speed sensor located on my 2008 Wrangler x 3.8 5-speed manual trans?

why? got DTC errors? please post them. just curious , me too.
5speed stick, there is no such transmission here. ok JK08 ,usa.
4wd?

mine is 6 speed stick, the 5speed option is the automatic.
6sp is DEH trans.or NSG 370
with NV241 transfer case.
my wild guess is its really a 6 speed manual, with 4wd.
am I correct>?
and is USA, not an Export.
my fsm does not cover, 6 speed VSS, oops.
i wonder if the VSS on the 6peed, uses speed from the ABS.
the automatic vss is on the left side of the tranny case. and input speed and engine rpm speed. but that is A/T.

M/T as your post clearly states is another matter.
the parts list for the 370 box shows no sensors at all ,just 1 reverse switch, then i look at the car 241 transfer case then the parts list.
it too , dont have a sensor. only , 4wd switch and is not a speed sensor.
so that leaves 3 more,
front axle, no.
rear axle ,no (only a lock up switch option)
leaving what, ABS.
must be the genius at JEEP said, one day, well gee abs knows speed, why not just get that for free on all 4speeds.

the A/T needs the sensors to shift right, but not any manual ever.

The electric drawings for jeep jk08 show no speed sensors at all on the M/T. (dedicated to forward speed via the transmission side)

see here a nice JK08 full parts list in PDF.

What kind of fluid does a 5 speed transmission take in a 1994 jeep wrangler

Transmission (standard):
- 80 weight gear oil but most recomend Redline MT 90 to protect the interals better. 75W90 is listed by some but the 80W is just cheaper to find with no ill effects.
AX-5 = 3.3 quarts
AX-15 = 3.25 quarts
BA-10/5 = 2.45 quarts

89 jeep wrangler only blws air out of the defrost vents no matter what position the switch is on

there is a small vacuum hose that goes into the passenger side firewall under the hood into the passenger compartment side-check to see if that is hooked up, it starts on the top of the engine and ends up at your climate controller. You can also drop your glover box down to see behind it to see the hose's route to the climate controller.

Where do I bleed the brtakes on A 1992 WRANGLER

If it's a 5 speed, under the passenger side in front of the base plate, there is a small nipple looks like the one for bleeding breaks, it pokes out of the front bell of the transmission. Bleed it like breaks, have someone push on the clutch, and hold, you open and let out the air, close have them let up, repeat until air is out.

Where is the fill plug on the ax 5 transmission on a 1995 wrangler

it is high on the passenger side on the tranny, just above the backup light switch. you will need a hand pump with a flexible hose unless your jeed has a body lift.
