Question about 2002 Ford Windstar Cargo
I just bought this minivan yesterday , i got it out to the road was fine but at night with all the lights on, the battery icon came on then a message Check charging unit, few minutes after that the lights dimmed and the ABS,Brake,Traction controland the rest of the lights on the dash board I could not use the power windows,radio,AC Nothing electrical thank god we made it Home I havent had a ford before but this Sucks,I read that could be a broken wire on the passenger side the simptoms were like a alternator problem But I drove 35 minutes on the Highway like that and when i got home i turn off the Van still running If the problem was a alternator or battery the car would Die on Quick but Brought me home ,Please Help
You need to check the charging system. Sounds like vehicle not charging, running on battery. May need an alternator.

All I have ever owned are Ford windstars, they have treated me very well. You have an alternator problem. If it was the battery the van would not deliver any charge at all once it becomes insufficent enough to do so (Ford = smart ) So this is your alternator.
