Check your fuel filter to see if it is clogged and/or water impurities in the fuel system. Check for vacuum leak in vacuum hoses.

Or either it is a problem with your fuel filter on your line and also you may have a problem with your fuel pressure so you need a fuel pressure test check. maybe your injectors or fuel rail has blockage in it.

2002 vw Passat starts but wont stay running keeps stalling out after 5 sec lots of fuel you can hear the pump

Take a look at the in line fuel filter .Follow the main fuel line from the fuel pump back to the engine you will find some kind of a filter between the tank and the intake manifold .
This is vary likely clogged its 13 years old unless you have replaced it at some point .
The biggest problem with a clogged filter is it makes the pump work to hard and ends up blowing the seals that pump the fuel hopefuly this hasn't happened yet and you can spend 10 bucks or so replace the filter and you will be fine.

Cant get car to crank

Check fuel pump itself to see if you can hear it cycling. If you can move down the line to fuel filter, could be clogged from sitting with bad gas, a common problem. Try turning over and spay some starting fluid to make sure you are getting spark. My guess would be clogged fuel lines. Let me know if I can help. Thanks.

The fuel is not getting to the engine in my 2001 Ford Taurus. The car will start but it won't stay on. Please help

possible problems would be fuel regulator problems, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel return line, clogged fuel pickup screen, clogged fuel filter, or clogged or stuck fuel tank breather valve/line/cap. easiest things first. look for a disconnected, lose, or warn vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold. next try starting the car without the fuel cap. if that works you probably need to clean or replace your gas cap. next i would check for fuel pressure. u can buy a pressure gauge from autozone for around 30 bucks and some will just do it for you. if youre pressure is good while the ign is on but when the car starts it drops your best bet is something is clogged. if it doesnt drop then you may have dirty injectors, bad spark plugs, or a bad distributor. put some injectory cleaner in there are run the car a few times, replace your plugs and wire, and have your distributor tested at autozone. if all that is fine/doesnt change anything you have an idle problem somewhere. test this by pressing the gas down a little bit while starting the car. if it stays running then you have idle problems. if so just comment and i'll help you out. i hope for your sake your regulator vacuum line is just unplugged or leaking. good luck to ya

Starts up but will not stay idling, bad gas smell comes out of it.

Hello! The gas vapor system, which is under pressure, must be purged...Without the ability to purge fuel will not flow...This is the reason the engine will not idle...Because you smell gas vapors is an indication the vapor canis ter purge valve is either defective or has an open/broken vacuum line...Follow the vacuum diagram under the hood and trace all lines..."tired" vacuum lines will **** closed, replace any cracked, broken or soft lines...If this does not solve the problem replace the purge valve...See picture

I have a 1993 gmc 2500 van with a 4.3 v 6 engine stalls will not start. get no fuel at throttle body inj. if I add fuel to throttle body van will start and run as long as I give it gas . when allowed to...

You must have a leak or one of the lines are clogged. The reason it stays running when your on the gas is because it keeps the fuel pressure up. Then when it shuts off it loses all pressure in the line and the pump cant handle the initial start with the leak in the line.

Wont stay running unless you give it gas

Clogged fuel filter.
Turn the truck all the way off.
Disconnect the two lines at the top and bottom of the fuel filter -fuel will start to run out of the upper line.
put in a new fuel filter being careful to get the flow direction correct.
crank the engine awhile until it starts.
If the problem persists it could possibly be clogged fuel injectors or a faulty idle speed sensor.
