Worn out recoil springs to the little pop out cogs that stop the belt from rolling oout in a crash (centifigul springs). Thise springs could be very loose and wornout causing the pins to stay latched out at imes. Either replace(recommended0 or lube the ear/roller housing. You may have to remove door piller trim to access then seatbelt housing.

Are both right and left sides inop? Check the switches on the door jams. They could be going bad.Make sure they are working. Check the motors that retract the belts.

Tachometer on 93 subaru not working?

The most common reason for the failure of tachometer on 93 Subaru Legacy is related to the connection of ground wire. Ensure that the ground wire has not become faulty because of wear or corrosion. In case the wire is not functional, it will need to be replaced without which the tachometer circuit will not be complete.

We have a 93 suby legacy wagon. Our drivers side retracting seat belt isn't working - stuck in one position... What do you think it wrong? Do seat belts have lifetime warranty?

it probably rewound with a wrinkle or a twist in it. About all you can do is try give it little short jerks and try to get it to release. Short of that, about all you can do is try taking it apart, straightening it out, or replacing it. There could be dirt, debris, a broken spring, etc. that is causing the problem. And, no. No such thing as a lifetime warrantee.

93 subaru legacy retractable seat belts work then dont work wat is causeing this

check the channels for any obstructions a loose piece of weatherstrip can cause this,if not one or both of the limit switches may be bad.a cheap fix is to forcr buckle into the most rearword position, your can should of came equipped with a allen wrench,on the lower part of 'b' pillar there is a plug remove it and the motor for the seatbelt is located there, install the wrench and turn counterclock wise to put buckle into rearword position, remove this pillar cover and disconnect motor connector, now all you have to do is buckle it everytime you get in and drive good luck!

I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy LSI. Seatbelt question

It has to be jerked just right for them to lock. Foreign cars are real touch when you **** them. American cars pretty much only lock up when you stop quickly and your whole body puts pressure on the belt.

1993 Subaru legacy auto seatbelts will not retract

The seat belt retractor mechanism is not electrical their mechanical. They must be damaged if not retracting or your parked on a grade. They are made to lock on any fore other than sitting level. This vehicle may have another lock agent involved like open doors or the like. Read your owners manual...

92 subaru legacy my hazards just just came on and won't turn off.

That usually happens if the battery goes all the way dead or disconnected & reconnected. If that's the case you'll usually hear a clicking sound under the dash also. it's part of the security system & needs to be reset. You can reset the system by either using the remote if you have one or most have a reset button under the left hand lower side of the driver side dash, turn the ign. on, eng. off & press the button for at least one second.
