The sound you are hearing is an exhaust leak. Sounds like a ticking noise, goes away when driving, but can be heard when sitting. You probably have a bad manifold gasket, or loose clamp or broken weld on exhaust. Best way to tell is start it up and listen as to find leak. Or take to a muffler shop and have them repair it.

Hello it sounds like a lifter is not getting the proper lubrication or a push rod that goes to the lifter may be partially clogged.Try some engine flush then a oil change to see what happens. You could probably drive awhile with this ticking noise from a lifter.

I have a 1993 buck skylark that is makin a raddling noise while iddling goes away when accerating? Sound is on the right side of motor.

Hello,

By the "right" side I'm assuming you mean the passenger's side. It's a good habit to get into to refer to the sides as passenger and driver. It leaves no grey area. Anyway, I digress. With the engine off, open the hood and see if you can turn the alternator easily about a half turn in either direction. I'm telling you this because these engines were notorious for breaking the harmonic balancer. At idle it sounds like there's something loose and rattling but, when accelerating the noise goes away.

Check it out and if it is what I said, you'll need special tools to replace it. There are other parts that should be check and replaced if necessary with this repair.

Good luck,
Vinnie

What would cause rattling noise only at first when accelerating not while driving or idling sound is coming from right side.

Put some fuel booster in it and I bet it goes away. Todays gas has alcohol up to 10 %. That was unheard of in 1995

I have a bearing noise on start up, goes away within 20 seconds when idling down.

You may have an internal bearing issue, which will be less apparent once the oil pressure builds, after the first few seconds of running. Typically this is a camshaft bearing issue, but I'm sorry, I can't be certain without inspecting the vehicle.

2001 ford sport trac put it in drive or reverse and let it idle and it shakes real badlike the motor is about to fall out give it gas and goes away check engine lite not on and no codes found only...

It sounds like you have a bad motor or transmission mount. Open your hood, and have a friend start your vehicle, and put it into drive. Observe the engine to see what is vibrating.

2001 chev impala ls makes whirring type noise when going down the street. Sounds like its coming from the drive or tranny. Stops when I veer right.

This sounds like the hub bearing. If it stops when you turn right then it is the right side front. When you veer right this takes the weight off the right side and the noise goes away.If the noise comes back and stays there when you veer left then the weight of the vehicle is on the right side.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Hello! If the humming noise is speed related(gets louder as vehicle speed increases)check front wheel bearings. If the noise goes away when turning one way or the other then it will most likely be in the front wheel bearing. If you turn the wheel(while moving)to the right and the noise goes away it is on the right side. If you turn the wheel to the left and the noise goes away its on the left side. Hope this information helps!

E300 merc vibrating noise from under right side of engine

You are luckey it happen at idel. Open the hood and put your hand on various sheetmetal and plastic parts until the noise goes away. When you determine the piece at fault, see if some screws are missing or if it can be repositioned to avaoid the noise. Does not sound serious.

Good Luck
