Well what happened was when you jumped the battery you scrambled the memory on the antitheft system and the electrical signals are not being fed from the ecm which is the brain inside the module. it is the computer which controls all the functions of the car.

Does changing the battery stops the stereo menu from working?

it may reset the menu and also can cause it to lock the antitheft function on some radios

Battery good, alternator charging, starter new, only starts with boost

it sounds like you might have a problem on the starter relay. check the voltages going to and leaving it. It should drop no lower than 9.5 volts during start.

Jetta battery was jumped and now the radio/cd player won't turn on

The security feature had locked the radio It's an antitheft system that is triggered if the power supply is interrupted. You will have to refer to your owners manual for instructions on how to get the unlock code, or contact a dealership. The dealership can get the stereo working again in no time, but it will be costly.

Just put new battery in my 2001 Saturn and now I can't get my stereo to play. Please help

If it is a factory stereo, you have to call a Saturn dealer and they will give you a code to unlock.I don't know if the automatically tell you how to do it so you may have to ask.Write it down too because it will happen every time the battery gets disconnected and sometimes it needs to be even though they aren't working on your battery.Good luck! 2001 Audi A6 2.7t , my audi symphony radio locked out

You will need the code to get it working. You may need Audi for this. Never disconnect the battery, or the alarm with trip on. Since it is frozen, I would try and remove the fuse, and reinstall it to reset the stereo. Then try the code.
I got lucky in my 2001 VW passat, when the stereo code was needed, but then the next day it started working by itself.

I just bought a 01 neon. The previous owner said he had to boost his car as he left his lites on. Now the stereo doesn't work. It has 3 lights flashing on I think the equalizer. I am told it is a antitheft...

I was under the impression that the dealer would give customers the code for their radio for free. Check with the last owner and see if he has it and knows how to enter it to get it working. When you get the code, save it. I haven't kept a factory radio for longer than it took to drive home from wherever I bought a vehicle, so, don't know how to enter the code. There is a code saver (small battery that keeps power in system) that you can buy/ use to prevent this in the future if you need to service battery.I'd also check with a different dealer...perhaps they won't be so greedy...
Good luck

Radio won't work after replacing batter

Check manual for any codes to unlock antitheft feature that may be part of the stereo/cd player. Hate to say it, but may require a call to dealer service, which should be able to help with code. Have your VIN ready.

Pontiac 2002 stereo

hi
im dave
your vehicles stereo is equipped with an antitheft system that render it inoperable once removed. If you are replacing with another ac delco make sure you have the code for that stereo. If you are replacing it with after market then find the section in your owners manual that tells you how to set the code, set it and write it down (maybe on the stereo) so you can sell it as those factory ac delco stereos are quite pricey
