I need instructions on how to replace the mirror (glass only) for the left side (driver side) rear view mirror on my 2008 Ford Edge.

This is how the glass shops in my area do it. Clean all the glass out of the mirror carefully. Don't want stitchs. Clean all the old glue off with a knife or razor blade and wash it with window cleaner. Wash the back of the new mirror as well with window cleaner. Put a liberal coat of silicone adhesive on the back of the new mirror and press it into place. Place a small block of wood or plastic on the mirror face and tape it on with black electrical tape. Stretch the tape as you wrap it around, make about 2 complete wraps. Do this on the inside and outside of the new mirror and leave it for 24 hours. Then you simply remove the tape and blocks and nobody will know the difference. Hope this helps. You could also get a auto glass shop to do it. It's not especially expensive. Hope this helps.

R/H side view mirror 2008 Explorer How can you tell if its heated, and how to replace It ? Thanks

The unheated mirror will have only 3 wires. The heated one will have 4 or 5 wires. There should be a small panel inside the truck where the mirror attaches. Take that panel off to access the nuts and wires to the mirror.

Replace driver side mirror

Go to local auto glass shop or auto supply store. Order a new mirror (not expensive). Ask also for the proper adhesive.

Put on some thick gloves (use pliers if needed) and remove the old glass.
Remove old adhesive from the mirror frame.
Apply adhesive to frame
Put new part in place and hold for a few seconds (read adhesive instructions).

That is it.

Please rate if this helps give your direction.

2008 Ford Fusion Wing Mirror Replacement

I checked Ford Focus mirror replacement and it seems to be the same. This is for the manual, unheated mirror.

Remove the mirror cover inside the door - slide a screwdriver behind the cover and pry loose carefully.

Remove the single 10mm bolt and the mirror comes free.
NB. Do not drop the bolt into the door.
