I hooked the battery posts up wrong when jump starting my cl type s put a new battery in & it still won't start what happened? Fuse blown? Or something worse?

It won't start because you will have fried various electronic components probably including the onboard computers.

So its off to the dealer so they can tell you all the expensive parts you will now need to replace to get the car running normally again.

Windows, Locks, And speakers not working. No blown fuses

On some cars when you disconnect the battery for whatever reason certain electrical areas will not be restored to operation after the battery is reconnected. You need what they refer to as a radio code to restore radio and other circuits to operation. The code should be in car manual. If not contact the dealer for the radio code for your car.

120 amp fuse

It sounds as if your battery may have come to the end of it's life and needs replacing. You need to get someone, preferably a garage to check your battery. If the 120 amp fuse is blowing then their could be other electrical faults on the vehicle. Do not replace the fuse without getting the battery and electrics checked out first.

At a guess, I'd say that you have got the new battery in back to front. This means that you are hooking the earth wires to the Positive side of the battery.

98 tiburon fx. battery blew up driving down the freeway. replaced battery, car wouldn't start. replaced crankshaft and cam sensors, along with coil pack. noticed a blown fuse for rear defogger and...

The reason why the battery blew up is because of a deffective alternator. The charging regulator on the alternator has malfuntioned, and caused the battery to be overcharged. The reason why your car wont start is because overvoltage has damaged some of the electronic sisytem in the car associated with the ignition system.

Possible electrical problems.

I would suggest that you check to see if the battery is connected properly---correct polarity!

If connected wrong, main fuse will blow. Lights come on because power is routed through the frame (ground) briefly.
Hope this helps.
