Question about Saturn Vue

1 Answer

I just bought a used 2004 Saturn Vue, when getting home (after an hour drive) I hear a really loud clinking sound about 3 seconds apart coming from the middle of underneath my car. I bought it as is... probably a stupid thing to do. Any suggestions?

It sounds like it was just the exhaust "pinging".
Could be bad gas or a bad catalytic convertor if your exhaust smells bad. Try better fuel - not necessarily higher octane, but something like Shell or BP for a while and see what happens.

Where is the transmission filter on 2004 saturn vue 3.5 motor

If you have the 3.5L engine the transmission filter is not serviceable unless you remove the trans and take it apart. All you can really do is change the fluid about every 60k.

2002 Saturn Vue V6 AWD sounds like an F1 car when i drive it. Very loud constant noise. Checked trans fluid and it was fine.

I have a 2002 saturn vue. Same thing..sounded like a jet engine ...loud humming as I accelerated . It got increasingly worse. It turned out to be the front wheel bearings. Replace them, now the noise is half as loud...have to do the rears also! 93,000 miles on it. Also, don't forget to replace the timing belt. It it goes too long and breaks, it will trash the engine...

I just had my wheel bearings replaced on both right and left sides in the front of my 2002 saturn vue. My vue sounds very loud when I am driving. What is it?

Vues are bad for having all hub bearings make noise, check your rear ones.Or the ones you didn't have replaced. If it's all wheel drive check the propshaft center carrier bearing.Common to fail & make noise.hope this helps

Saturn vue 2004 repalced battery

If it is like most Saturns if you had the radio or any eletrical equipment on when you changed the battery it blows the fuse. It will also blow the fuse to your turn signals or wipers if they are on.

2004 Saturn Vue Brakes

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.
