Question about 1998 Dodge Dakota
1998 dakota with v6 and automatic. you have to run the tach up to 4000 rpm and then let off the gas and then it will shift out of first gear. Why? The rest of the gears shift fine.
Replace the speed sensor, check for vacuum leaks. Change tranny oil and filter.
